Session done. Another one in the bank.
Not every workout needs to be extraordinary.
You just need enough ordinary sessions stacked together.
Consistency does the rest.
No Heavy Dumbbells. No Barbells. Still Training Back. | JIMFREAK
NO HEAVY DUMBBELLS. NO BARBELLS. STILL TRAINING BACK.
Different gym. Limited equipment. Same intention.
When you train somewhere with limited equipment — a hotel gym, a small gym, or simply somewhere without the equipment you normally use — adapt.
Change the angles. Change the grips. Control the reps. Use what’s available and make it work.
A good workout doesn’t depend on having the perfect gym.
If you’re travelling, on holiday, or training somewhere with limited equipment, don’t write the session off. Find a way to get the work done.
Follow me for more training ideas, workouts and my fitness journey.
Hard work & discipline always show.

🇹🇷 J'ai fait Galatasaray et Fenerbahce. Jamais Besiktas. Mais hier, je me suis pris une claque, même devant ma télé, contre l'OM.
Ce qui est choquant, c'est que ce ne sont pas que deux virages qui bougent.
Mais le stade entier !
Personne ne rivalise avec la Turquie.
My shoulders have become one of my strongest body parts, and I believe the way I train them twice a week has played a big part in that.
But I don't simply repeat the same shoulder workout twice.
My first shoulder session is more traditional.
My second is completely different. Lighter weights, different angles, longer sequences and a lot of controlled work across the front, side and rear delts.
For this session I start with a 5-movement giant set:
1. Seated hammer-curl-to-lateral-extension complex
2. Lateral → front → overhead raise
3. Lateral raise
4. Front raise
5. Bent-over rear-delt raise
All 5 movements back-to-back = 1 giant set.
4 rounds. Light weights. Controlled reps.
The weights stay deliberately light because fatigue builds quickly across the sequence.
Then I finish with:
Floor-to-overhead press — 4 sets.
That’s my complete secondary shoulder session.
Over time, I've found that this second weekly session has worked extremely well for me, particularly for developing the full, rounded shoulder look I'm after.
Does that mean everyone needs to train shoulders twice a week or copy this workout? No.
But if you're training a muscle more than once a week, the second session doesn't necessarily have to be a repeat of the first.
Same shoulders. Different session.
Train with purpose.
The hard work always shows.

Light weight doesn’t mean light work.
Five shoulder movements back-to-back, repeated for four rounds, builds fatigue very quickly.
This is how I like to structure my secondary shoulder session. It’s my approach, not a workout everyone needs to copy.

Life gets busy. The days get long, and motivation won’t always be there.
That’s exactly when discipline matters.
Not every workout will be your best, but every workout you complete keeps you moving forward.
Stay at it. One step closer.

Why do I go LIGHT → HEAVY → LIGHT?
Because I’m not trying to get exactly the same thing from every set.
I start my back training lighter and controlled, build into the heavy work, then deliberately reduce the load again to finish with slower, controlled reps and a strong range of motion.
You may also notice I’m limping slightly and my stance on the single-arm rows looks different. I’m currently training around a knee issue, so I modify my setup to keep pressure off that knee. The adjustment is deliberate.
MY FULL BACK SESSION
ROWING
Barbell Row — 3 sets | lighter + controlled
T-Bar Row — 3 sets | lighter + controlled
Single-Arm Dumbbell Row — 3 sets | heavy | 50 kg
Single-Arm Dumbbell Row — 2 sets | lighter | 32 kg | slower + controlled
LIGHT → HEAVY → LIGHT
CONTROL → LOAD → CONTROL
Then I move into the rest of my back work:
LATS / PULLING
Lat Pulldown — 3 sets
Close-Grip Lat Pulldown — 2 sets
Single-Arm Lat Pulldown — 3 sets
Cable Pullover — 3 sets
TOTAL: 22 WORKING SETS
Yes, that’s a high-volume back session.
That’s my volume. It doesn’t need to be yours.
And even my own volume isn’t fixed.
I’ve been training for over 30 years, and through that experience I’ve consistently found that my body responds well to periods of higher-volume training.
And that isn’t just how I train back.
Across different body parts, some weeks I want those longer, harder, high-volume sessions. I enjoy them. I like walking out of the gym knowing I’ve worked.
Other weeks I deliberately bring the volume down.
I train six days a week, so I pay attention to how I’m performing, how I’m sleeping and recovering, and I adjust the workload accordingly.
Some weeks more. Some weeks less.
For me, training isn’t about blindly repeating the same number of sets every week.
It’s about knowing my own response after decades of training and adjusting accordingly.
Someone else may get everything they need from considerably fewer sets. Adding my volume to their programme might give them nothing except additional fatigue.
My number isn’t your number.
I’m not claiming 22 sets is better.
I’m showing you how I train, how I manipulate load and volume, and what more than three decades of training has taught me about my own body.
HEAVY + CONTROL.
Make them work together.
Push the weight.
Control the rep.
The work always shows
22 sets this week doesn’t mean 22 sets every week.
I train six days a week and deliberately adjust my volume depending on performance and recovery.
Sometimes I want more volume. Sometimes less is exactly what I need.
After 30+ years, I’ve learned what I respond to.
Find what you respond to. Don’t blindly copy somebody else’s number.

🔴 ÖZEL | Uluslararası Spor Mahkemesi (CAS) Yargıcı Emin Özkurt, Dusan Vlahovic ceza alır mı sorusunu sordum. @spordepormedya
Limited gym. Limited equipment. Not a limited workout.
One machine, one bench and a pair of 5 kg dumbbells. That was pretty much the entire hotel gym.
So I adapted.
Different grips. Different angles. Bodyweight where needed. Back, shoulders, chest and arms — a complete upper-body workout using whatever was available.
You won’t always have your usual gym or your favourite equipment. But you can still make what you have work.
No excuses needed. Just find a way.
The gym doesn’t make the workout. You do.

Your hotel gym has a bench, a few dumbbells… and not much else.
That doesn’t mean you can’t put together a proper shoulder workout.
The movements in this video aren’t a checklist. They’re options.
Different lateral-raise positions.
Front-delt work.
Rear-delt work.
A shoulder press.
You don’t need to do all of them.
Here’s one simple way to build the session:
LIMITED-EQUIPMENT SHOULDER WORKOUT
1. Pick 1–2 lateral-delt variations
Standing, 45° leaning or chest-supported
3 sets × 10–15 reps
2. Pick 1 rear-delt movement
Bent-over reverse fly
3 sets × 10–15 reps
3. Pick 1 shoulder press
Standing dumbbell shoulder press
3 sets × 8–12 reps
OPTIONAL: Want some additional front-delt work? Swap one of the lateral variations for dumbbell front raises.
That gives you a simple 9–12 working-set shoulder session depending on the variations you choose.
The point isn’t to find seven exercises and do all seven.
It’s to understand what you’re trying to train, choose movements that cover it, and make the equipment you have work for you.
You don’t need your normal gym.
You don’t need every machine.
Sometimes you just need a bench, some dumbbells and a plan.
Limited equipment. Not limited training.
Save this one for your next trip.
Don’t copy every exercise just because it’s in the video.
Pick what you need:
1–2 lateral-delt variations + rear delts + a press.
Keep the reps controlled, choose a load that actually challenges you, and you’ve got a perfectly practical hotel-gym shoulder session.
