Sen. Elissa Slotkin says she wants the threat of prosecution to serve as a "deterrence message" that scares young people away from taking jobs in the Trump administration.
The Michigan Democrat made the remarks at a University of Chicago event, saying she wants prospective hires to think, "Lord, that might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don't want, and so let me avoid participating in that."
The comments drew sharp backlash from legal scholars and conservative students alike, with law professor Jonathan Turley saying Slotkin "said the quiet part out loud."

Ensign Francis C. Flaherty of Charlotte gave his life at Pearl Harbor, helping fellow sailors escape the USS Oklahoma.
He received the Medal of Honor and finally came home to Charlotte in 2021.
I'm proud to lead the bill naming Charlotte's post office in his honor, with every member of Michigan's House delegation behind it.

Did you know that the site of Jesus’ birth was actually preserved by the efforts to suppress it?
The Emperor Hadrian attempted to erase many holy sites by burying them beneath pagan monuments, and ironically, it was his very identification of this place as a site to be hidden that led to the discovery of the place of Jesus' birth.
Without the attempt to cover it up, the birthplace of Jesus might not be so widely accepted today.

BREAKING: The parents of Briley Lechner, a HS athlete at Monroe Public Schools in Michigan, filed a FEDERAL LAWSUIT against the district for Title IX violations.
The lawsuit claims the district failed to notify parents that the opposing girls’ volleyball team had a male player pretending to be a girl, despite already knowing about the player.
Briley’s team ended up LOSING that game 3-0.
