Climate action isn't just about avoiding a worse future. It's about building a better one.
A world where clean energy is affordable, the air is safer to breathe and communities are better protected from extreme weather is within reach.

A moment of joy from the heartlend of India, Madhya Pradesh as our Global Chief for CP , Sheema Sen Gupta visits us @UNICEFIndia
Young people are at the heart of safer communities and stronger child protection systems.
During her mission to Bhopal, Sheema Sen Gupta, UNICEF’s Global Director for Child Protection and Migration, engaged with care leavers, members of the Yuva Shakti Sangathan, adolescents, youth, community leaders and child protection stakeholders.
Through discussions on the Care Leavers Network and Bhopal’s Safe City Initiative, young people shared their experiences, priorities and vision for the future.
Their voices reinforced a powerful message: when children and young people are heard, empowered and given meaningful opportunities to participate, they become leaders of change, helping to build safer, more inclusive communities and stronger pathways to independent, dignified lives.

A decade of progress and a shared commitment to every child’s right to care, protection and justice.
At the 11th National Annual Stakeholders’ Consultation, the Supreme Court of India, the @MinistryWCD, and UNICEF India marked 10 years of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
Highlighting the importance of justice for children, Hon’ble Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India, inaugurated an e-Compendium of landmark Supreme Court and High Court judgments delivered under the Juvenile Justice Act between 2015 and 2025. The compendium supports child-centred justice by consolidating rulings that uphold children’s best interests.
More than a milestone, the national consultation was a vital platform to reflect on progress, learn from experience and build consensus on the priorities shaping the future of child protection and justice in India.
Together, we can protect, support and empower every child.

At 20, Renee Noronha has taken on one of the toughest tests of endurance, completing the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
On 10 October 2026, she made history as the youngest Indian woman to finish the gruelling race, which demands far more than physical strength.
The challenge involved swimming 3.8 km in open water, cycling 180 km and then running a full 42.2 km marathon. That’s 226.2 km in total, through choppy seas, strong winds, rain and scorching heat.
But Renee’s journey into endurance sports began with gymnastics. From the age of six to 16, she trained in the sport before embarking on a new athletic journey that would take her to the world stage.
And she isn’t stopping here.
Renee now aims to complete IRONMAN races across all six continents and pursue a Guinness World Records title.

Listening to girls, learning from girls!
UNICEF India welcomed the She Shine Leaders, girl leaders aged 13–17 from Children's Hope India, to its New Delhi office.
The group met with Cynthia McCaffrey, @UNICEFIndiaRep, and @ShSenGupta, Global Director, Child Protection and Migration. They spoke about their experiences, their dreams, and some bold ideas for their future.
Real participation means more than giving girls a platform. It means listening to them and letting their ideas shape our work.
Let's continue to invest in girls, listen to girls, and act in their best interest.

While people see their disabilities, they make the world hear their talent.
This inspiring story began at Lucknow’s Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University. In 2025, student Satyam brought together fellow music lovers to form a band that would go on to inspire thousands.
The band has 11 members — 7 visually impaired artists and 4 other musicians — who met during their college years. What started with singing and playing music on campus soon grew into a professional music group.
Among them is Vijay Kumar, who can play 26 different musical instruments. Satyam plays the Octapad, while his brother Shivam manages the group and coordinates their shows.
They started with small local performances, but social media soon helped their talent reach a much bigger audience. Today, they receive around 10 performance enquiries every day from cities including Delhi and Lucknow.
And they never let music come in the way of education — all 11 members continued their studies and are graduates.
Their journey proves that talent knows no physical limits. With courage, support, and hard work, dreams can find their way to the world. ❤️

Children are using AI to learn, create, and explore ideas. But AI should support their thinking, not replace it.
We asked adolescents from across India how AI is shaping their lives and what they make of it.
