My little contribution to this year's Shark Week 😅🙃 Of course none of it's possible without a whole team of people and year's of ground work by @AlisonTowner1 to document the site and design the study
Capturing this jaw-dropping moment as a majestic shark breaks through the surface with unparalleled grace and power! 🌊🦈 #SharkWeek

Featuring on #SharkWeek tonight! Honestly, I've never had more fun on a shoot than this one, @AlisonTowner1 and I just putting fin cam after fin cam on white sharks in South Africa! Catch it 10pm on #SharkWeek2024 in the US or coming soon elsewhere!
Ready to see if the bait line will lure in a fin-tastic friend? 🦈 Watch Great White Danger Zone tonight at 10p on @Discovery! #SharkWeek

In our team was @jessrpearce who's our eDNA and genomics expert, @BenDantonio who studies shark movements and oceanography, and @Emily_Spurgeon who's our acoutic telemetry expert. We were just missing is our co-lead @marinecologist who couldn't make this trip!

Last week I lead my first shark tagging field trip and had an absolute blast ! We tagged 15 tiger sharks with long-term (~10 year) acoustic tags to follow these beauties as they move throughout Exmouth gulf and beyond ! Thanks to @minderoo and @EcolSocAus for the support 🦈 – at Exmouth, Western Australia

Tagging the tiger - next step is to catch its tail! We are deploying acoustic tags that have a 10 year lifetime and building a multi-decadal data set for these keystone species. Long term studies are critical. Thanks to @uwaoceans and @minderoo for the support!

Dr. Grubbs, Dr. Naylor, & students caught and tagged a 13ft sawfish last month during their immersive "Biology of Sharks & Rays" course. It's the furthest north a sawfish has been tagged in decades. Click the link to read all about this exciting encounter! floridamuseum.ufl.edu/scienc…
