Moving fast vs. swinging hard ❓
Trying to compensate by swinging an implement like the long bat “hard” can negatively impact sequencing and cause hitters to move slower as a result
Instead, having the intent to move fast with the long bat can allow hitters to self learn a more efficient sequence

Better wrist flexion = better bat path 📈
Jevin Patterson saw big changes in his attack angle and ball flight by changing how his wrist un-hinges

Here's some of the results of these improvements
Significantly improved Bat Path from @JevinPatterson
Huge difference in how his wrist un-hinges, leading to the barrel staying on plane much better
August:
Swing Path Tilt: 33.8° | VBA @ contact: -11.6°
November:
Swing Path Tilt: 34.3° | VBA @ contact: -26.6°

High Early Connection & Low Connection at Impact
Entering the zone w/ the barrel too vertical can lead to a flat and pull-oriented path, since the hitter has to get the barrel on-plane by manipulating it w/ their hands mid-swing
One solution: using the lead arm to set bat path
