So unbelievably happy to have these in my hands now.
I hope to get a lot of these into backer’s hands ASAP. What a journey it has been!
Here are the images we did for the Dungeons & Dragons #USPS #ForeverStamps.
‘Maze': It's not often folks get to see what spells look like in the game, so it was as cool opportunity. The other Is 'Death Knight', which is pretty self explanatory. Enjoy!

The chance of being annihilated by a frog while in a hot tub is low, but never zero..
Artists, remember posting cool art and not having to explain whether it’s AI generated?
Ah, the good ol’ days. 😂

Yearly reminder that nobody does Opening Day like Cincinnati.
Haha, every time a Flumph meme pops up I’m reminded that when we did this art, it wasn’t quite clear on how to color them. So I suggested taking some colors/inspiration from a portuguese man of war so it would look more colorful and not just a dull brown. 😊
We made the list with Legendary Dragons! 😊 Thanks so much Jacob! I owe you a beer 🍻

Fundamentally, it’s not the game of D&D, or all the minutia about rules and whatnot that’s important. It’s the time spent with friends and family that’s important.
I’m a “what the project needs” type of art director. I try to express to the artist what the piece needs for the audience and try to avoid a “style” that may or may not work. It’s important to have an artist and client on the same page.
Example: For the D&D Young Adventurer’s books, it was important to appeal to an 8-12 year old, but still make it feel like D&D. The artists on that project nailed it.
When it all comes together, it’s pretty damn cool.
I remember doing the math when I was younger on how many pieces of D&D art I’d need to produce while working for TSR in order to make a living haha.
It wasn’t long after that when TSR was purchased by WoTC and my dreams of being a staff artist were shelved. :)
It all worked out in the end (years later), albeit in a different capacity as a head of a studio instead. No complaints! We all have different paths.
Nothing against the Displacer Beast, but sometimes I wonder if we made the art “too cool looking” compared to its actual stats.
When using them, I just felt like having Displacer Beasts needed a few extra rounds in combat since they looked so cool. 🤷♂️
Go get it and hunt those pesky dragons, and make it a bit of coin too!
