The final miles of training are here! With the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon just around the corner, Rafael Castillo, NY Jeter’s Leaders Program Coordinator, is putting in the work to get ready for race day while helping Team Turn 2 close in on its $30,000 fundraising goal.
As a first-time dad, Rafael is especially motivated by the opportunity to help the next generation build successful futures. Now, as he enters the final stretch of marathon prep, every donation brings Team Turn 2 closer to its goal.

Through #Turn2’s partnership with @MonroeUniv, #JetersLeaders gain access to scholarships, mentorship & college-readiness support as they prepare for their next chapter, while Monroe students gain valuable hands-on experience to put their skills into action.

Today, on #NationalHeroDay, we’re celebrating the people who inspire us to dream bigger and give back. For @derekjeter, Dave Winfield was one of those people.
A role model on & off the field, Dave’s example inspired Derek to create #Turn2 and build a Foundation dedicated to helping young people reach their full potential. We’re grateful for the heroes who lead by example & remind us of the difference we can make in the lives of others.
The Kalamazoo #JetersLeaders returned to support the @afspnational's Out of the Darkness Walk, helping with event setup & registration, encouraging participants along the trail, & assisting at water and snack stations.
At the finish line, they helped welcome walkers & create a supportive atmosphere. Supporting initiatives like this is an important part of #Turn2’s commitment to helping young people build healthy lifestyles, prioritize mental well-being & advocate for positive mental health.
Even marathon training deserves a night off! #TeamTurn2 runners James O’Rourke and Rafael Castillo traded in their sneakers for suits to celebrate Turn 2’s 30th Anniversary Gala before getting back to the miles.
