Driving around Austin, Texas with my 5-year-old and 8-year-old when we spotted a driverless Tesla Cybercab in the wild. So naturally… we started chasing it. And then it hit me… They may be two of the youngest kids in the world to ever see a driverless Cybercab operating on public roads. Something they would not see today if they were at school today. I am increasingly convinced that there will be a third round in the US-Israel-Iran war. It is not inevitable, but the signals I am picking up from the two sides, as well as from key GCC states, leaves me quite pessimistic. Tehran believes it has the military edge and is openly discussing going on the offensive instead of merely responding to American attacks. By that, Iran will not only have wrested control of the scope and geography of the war from the US, but also its timing. In the US, on the other hand, an increasingly frustrated Trump not only promises to annex a Strait he can’t open, but also threatens to bomb Oman, even though Muscat by all accounts has become very helpful to the US’s broader strategy. Meaning, it is increasingly representing the US position in the talks rather than its own, given it was Oman’s previous compromise proposals that prompted the first threat by Trump to bomb America’s own mediator. And of course, Trump has formally endorsed the Pakistan-Saudi-Turkey defense pact, while Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has reshuffled much of the top Iranian leadership. In your scenario, the founder could sell to pay a one time 5 percent tax or the state could sell it if he defaults on the loan. Ask Jensen, Lisa Su, Sundar if they plan to leave California if this ballot initiative passes. Btw 85 percent of the nation's VC money came in Q1 2026 to California. I love your passion. I respect your intellect and ability to get things done. Why not put this energy in figuring out how we bring capital and high paying jobs to every community in America? Why not put it towards figuring out the policy that expands childcare or healthcare (as you are working on reducing drug pricing)? Allow illiquid founders to pledge shares with a loan from the government to pay tax. The loan period is long but not infinite (e.g. 10 years). The loan is non-resource: at the end of the period, the loan is either paid back in cash, or the government assumes the shares.
