ADHD is a malfunctioning priority filter where your brain decides that researching the evolutionary history of the domestic cat is a "Tier 1 Emergency," while the life-altering deadline you have in three hours is merely a "vague suggestion" from a stranger you’ve never met.
I’ve been largely silent online lately because I’ve been working on book seven in my post-apocalyptic series.
I have a newfound respect for writers (of books and TV and movies) who write those villains that you love to hate. Because damn, that’s harder than you’d think.

BREAKING:
3 Doors Down have announced the passing of their founder, lead singer, and songwriter Brad Arnold, who died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, February 7, at the age of 47 following a battle with cancer.
Arnold was a founding member and a defining voice of early 2000s mainstream rock, best known for writing the band’s breakthrough hit “Kryptonite” at just 15 years old. His songwriting helped shape a generation, blending emotional honesty with radio-defining rock anthems.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer and family. The band and family have asked for privacy during this difficult time.
🖤 Rest in peace, Brad Arnold. Your music and legacy will live on. #3doorsdown

Dear Duffer Brothers,
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT EVEN?
That was probably the sloppiest, messiest structured storyline I've ever seen in a series finale. The second half, especially. It was terribly paced, and some of the characters' actions made zero sense (I'm looking at what you did to poor Linda Hamilton--she deserved better).
Trying to keep this vague for people who haven't watched it yet, but damn. I honestly think they were just sort of stuck on how to end the series, which I can sympathize with as a writer, but it felt like it, and the viewer/reader shouldn't be able to tell, but damn, I could see the struggle.
I’m about 90% sure I have the flu.
Yippee. Not.

I don't need "low maintenance" friends. I need "high tenacity" friends.
Friends who see me ignoring the group chat for 3 weeks and correctly identify it as a "System Error" rather than a personal attack.
Thank you for not letting me fire myself from this friendship. You are the real MVPs.

I see many high profile sports journalists learned last night that predicting the future is very hard.
Take it from a long time meteorologist. Never delete old posts that are wrong. Admit your mistake, and learn from it. You will be much better off.
Humility helps people stay open to learning, recognize their limitations, and grow from mistakes. Humble people tend to listen better, accept feedback more easily, and adapt when they’re wrong — all of which lead to wiser decisions over time.

Bernie Sanders stopped unanimous passage of a pediatric cancer bill this week as families of cancer victims watched in the Senate gallery.
Not because he disagreed with the bill, but because he wanted to use it as leverage to pass other provisions.
Gross.
I made the mistake of looking at my overall book sales for 2025.
My GOD, I've got to get better at marketing and advertising.

This is why I use @Chewy: They seem to genuinely care about their customers.
On 11/3, we had to help my family's 16yo Pom Jack across the rainbow bridge.
Today, I received a package in the mail from Chewy. This was inside, along with a condolence letter.
Thank you so much, @Chewy, for your kind words and your care during this sad time!
I really don't think I could have put this any better. You could easily apply this to the writing (and even the editing) fields of creativity, too:

Ughhhh, the more I think about this, the madder I get.
One of my author friends had 35(!!) projects stolen by Anthropic. Only FOUR qualify for claims under the settlement.
This is effing ridiculous. Whenever there's something involving the pub industry, I swear, the authors are always, ALWAYS the ones who get shafted.
Well. I got my email from the Authors Guild about the Anthropic AI lawsuit settlement thing today. Checked the database of works that qualify. Out of my entire catalog, there's exactly two.
It's better than nothing, but it still ticks me off that they stole eight of my books and I only get to claim two of them.
