To the woman who lives through others, who will do anything to keep the family she built—even when the poison is her own — this is for you. Beneath the Poison Tree by Brenda Guiton Dawn is unfulfilled and lives vicariously through her sister, pouring her energy into family ties that look close from the outside but are far more complicated than they appear. When betrayal threatens everything she holds precious, she commits an unspeakable act—one that goes undetected, then comes back to haunt her. A tragic accident turns her life in an unexpected direction and seems to offer a chance at the dreams she has long postponed. Then a stranger arrives and wrecks her plans. Can she dispose of the problem as she has in the past, or are the obstacles this time too great? A family drama steeped in suspense, *Beneath the Poison Tree* goes inside the mind of a woman obsessed and the lengths she will go to when her life starts to unravel. Inspired in part by William Blake’s poem “A Poison Tree,” it is a psychological thriller about jealousy, obsession, and the frailty of human nature, set in the author’s hometown of Doncaster.
