NEW: In his first year running Ontario's largest school board, the Ford government's TDSB supervisor logged more than twice as many meetings with the board's $20B real estate arm than he did with parent groups, calendar entries reveal. The FOI records offer a rare glimpse into the supervisor’s day-to-day work, raising concerns that parents have taken a back seat under provincial supervision. Story: thetrillium.ca/news/educatio…

#BREAKING - “This is outrageous” says Toronto Mayor Chow as she reacts to news that the Ford government will begin bike lane removal this coming Tuesday. The first lanes to go, I’m told, will be those on Bloor St., West.

When you only spend $140 million of your $5 billion tariff relief fund, you're not serious about making your plan work. Instead, we're seeing hard-working steelworkers get laid off, with more than 350 let go in Hamilton last week alone. Doug Ford talks a big game when it comes to supporting Ontarians, but we've seen that he doesn't put his money where his mouth is. The Premier took a 21-week summer vacation instead of getting back to the legislature, and working with us to pass a plan that actually protects our workers and businesses. When will Doug Ford finally put Ontarians first?

How much are Ontario taxpayers paying for the Ford government's education ads? Earlier this week, Treasury Board President Kinga Surma said to ask Education Minister Paul Calandra. Today, Calandra said to ask Surma. So far, no one has provided an answer on how much the ads are costing:

NEW: Nearly two years into an escalating trade battle with the United States, the Ford government’s signature $5 billion ‘Protect Ontario’ account has spent just $140 million to shore up tariff-impacted businesses. globalnews.ca/news/12077838/… #onpoli

Doctors for Safe Cycling - you know, the people who treat the consequences of unsafe streets in the ER - gathered in Toronto today to protest provincial interference in our street infrastructure. Spending $43 million to make our streets less safe will put even more pressure on our ERs. They know it. cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/o…

These guys spent the last 8 years treating the public purse like their personal piggy bank, and they want the people to prepare for difficult times? That’s rich. What sacrifices do people have to make for this government’s spending sprees on all the wrong things?
In the middle of an all day cabinet meeting, Minister of Finance Peter Bethlenfalvy and Treasury Board President Kinga Surma are warning about the possibility of tough decisions and belt tightening ahead

That’s a lot of excuses for a Premier and Minister who spent $60M to mess up getting school supplies into classrooms 🤷🏽‍♀️ Want to know how Ford and Calandra’s Staples contract is going? Ask any teacher or education worker. ✏️
Asking Premier Doug Ford why Ontario gave its $66M classroom supplies contract to U.S.-owned Staples while his government pushes “Buy Canadian”: “It’s like saying, don’t go to Home Depot, don’t go to Walmart, don’t buy an American car… and yeah… preferably not buy an American car…” Education minister weighs in too. Last night, on the holiest day of the Jewish year, a horrifying act of violence took place outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville, injuring a police officer. This is devastating for the community. Jewish Canadians should not have to feel scared in their place of worship. There is no place for antisemitism in our province, and we must do everything we can to stamp it out. My thoughts are with the Jewish community as they grapple with this horrific act. I want to thank local law enforcement for ensuring everyone’s safety and we are wishing the injured officer a swift recovery.

Cities already buy 98% Canadian. Doug Ford is threatening to defund them anyway. His own government is building subway cars in Maryland and forcing teachers to shop at American-owned Staples. Premier, start with your own contracts.
Ontario's new subway cars: built in Maryland. Our highway maintenance: Texas. Our teachers' supplies: Staples. You awarded $140M at Mississauga's new hospital to a U.S. firm and sent WSIB work to Boston. Premier, if Buy Ontario is the law, you're breaking it.
