Goth people keep accusing us of “larping” or “cosplaying” being goth. Speaking just for myself — I genuinely love the goth aesthetic. I love dressing dark and alternative, and I also love dressing soft and girly sometimes. I’m not a “true goth” in the sense that I don’t make the entire lifestyle and aesthetic my whole identity, in actually someone who always switches my aesthetic, but I’m always doing it out of what I truly love. And I do love wearing goth-inspired looks, which is why I hashtag them on some of my posts. Some of the outfits I put together are clearly goth-inspired, and that’s enough reason for me. I’ve been dressing this way for years. I don’t understand why I can’t wear what I love without it becoming an issue. 🖤
