Mozambique 🇲🇿 We are proud to announce that the WR Women’s Chess Tour is coming to Mozambique - bringing world-class women’s chess to one of Africa’s most dynamic and fastest-growing countries. The WR Women’s Chess Tour was created with a clear vision: to build one of the strongest global platforms for women’s chess, connecting elite competition, international visibility, education, business, and cultural exchange. Mozambique represents exactly the kind of country where the future is being built today. A country with enormous energy potential, strategic importance for Africa, and a young generation ready to connect with the world through sport, technology, and education. Major international companies such as @TotalEnergies, @exxonmobil, @eni, @AdnocGroup, @DHLGlobal, @South32, @SasolSA, and @JindalAfrica are already active in Mozambique - a sign of the country’s growing role in the global economy. We believe chess should grow together with these new global centers of development. The WR Women’s Chess Tour is not only about competition. It is about creating opportunities. It is about visibility for women in chess. It is about inspiring the next generation. And it is about connecting continents through intelligence, strategy, and culture. Africa matters. Women’s chess matters. Mozambique matters.

For the fourth year in a row, I am proud to support chess in Africa through official sponsorship. This year, I am especially pleased to support the 2026 African Individual Chess Championship in Botswana as an official sponsor - an important event for the continent and for global chess. Africa is a key pillar of our sport. Its federations, its young talents, and its growing continental structures are playing a decisive role in shaping the future of chess. Sustainable progress requires long-term commitment, partnership, and respect for the work of national federations. I remain ready to support any federation in its initiatives to develop chess, strengthen institutions, and create new opportunities for players. Together, we can build a stronger global chess community.

Cape Town knows how to do it right ♟️ Public chess in the city, people playing, watching, connecting - simple and powerful. Next time my company comes to Africa, we will definitely bring the WR Chess initiative here. Chess belongs everywhere. #WRChess #Chess #CapeTown
