Although the meta-historical fall concept is addressed in several books published by prominent university presses, Dumsday has published the first direct engagement with the concept that I am aware of in a peer-reviewed journal.

"Jesus has no need of death but accomplishes God’s creative act upon the cross despite the death that we have brought upon our entire world."

Only the steady light of Christ fully exposes the extent and brutality of the suffering that we in this hurting cosmos so sadly consider to be natural.
In classical metaphysics, evil is often “identified” as a privation of goodness and being. It is, however, best understood as the gap that we create by something left undone, unfinished or unloved.

“We’re not talking about the sort of ‘irreducible complexity’ that fascinates ‘Intelligent Design’ theorists since they too seem to think that organisms are machines, constructed according to patterns extrinsic to themselves by a God who’s little more than a divine mechanic.”
“It’s the living organism, more properly speaking, pursuing its own intrinsic ends within complex and changing environments, that uses genes selectively as templates to make the molecules it needs.” —Psyche
“As a negentropic process, moreover, life sustains itself ‘far from equilibrium’ precisely as both a flow of matter and energy in constant metabolism and yet also as a controlled state of continuous structural change.”
