Good school culture is not the result of a lot of gimmicks… it is the result of a bunch an adults motivated to do what is best for kids.
So proud of my girl and her beautiful new book!! A must read for any elementary educator, counselor, therapist, etc. What a beautiful way to describe and articulate feelings! #SEL

Why smart people often do stupid things: Intelligence isn't a substitute for wisdom.
Intelligence is the capacity to learn. Wisdom is converting learning into good judgment.
Using brainpower requires willpower. It takes self-control to choose future gains over current impulses.

Freebie alert! Many teachers ask *exactly* what a sequence of lessons might look like to boost conceptual transfer. Here are a ton of samples that are included in our Instructional Design course.

Ahhh! I was accepted to my doctoral program today! I am one of nine who will be in my cohort, and I’m honored to have been selected. My work will be in mathematics education, and I just can’t wait to get started!! #justjumpinanddoit #knowbetterdobetter
Had the amazing privilege of hangin’ with Shelley Moore (@tweetsomemoore) today! Shelley - you’re a gift to the world. Today inspired and reminded us of our why - so grateful for your voice in this educational landscape!
… and I’ll say it again - Math can change the world 🌎 💕
Thank you @LanaSteiner4 for this beautiful message!
Still thinking about NCTM in DC and what an incredible experience it was this year! If you went- what was your favorite new learning? I honestly can’t choose one, but seeing so many amazing speakers preaching engaging and equitable instructional practice makes my heart sing!

There is a cost to lead. True leaders are willing to pay the price: sacrifice self-interest and put their Cause ahead of themselves.

Every. Single. Day.
What did you do to promote student learning?
What did you do to support your teachers and staff?

A former student approaches you and says "I use math every day in my job as a [x] and I owe it all to you." For what values of x are you happy? For what values are you sad?
Are our students problem solving … or mimicking procedures coded as “word problems”?
I recently had the privilege of attending a training by @fawnpnguyen , and I love the simple way she describes problem solving: “Problem solving is what you do when you don’t know what to do.”
