The inaugural event at The Champion Center took place last week as leaders gathered for the CEO Summit. It is exciting to see this new facility already serving its purpose and welcoming guests to experience the Liberty story. I look forward to the official grand opening soon.
I had the privilege of touring The Champion Center with my friend Dr. Tim Lee, and that this building exceeded our expectations! Everyone involved in this project has made a tremendous effort, and I couldn't be more proud of the way the legacy and mission of LU is displayed here.
These incredible 9-foot screens in The Champion Center’s Heritage Showcase will feature interviews and historical information of the major time periods in Liberty’s history, showing that the mission of Training Champions for Christ has never changed since our founding.
The screens in The Champion Center ballroom are in place, and you can see what a tremendous addition they are to this area! The sound and display capabilities can enhance the content of any event, whether it’s a smaller gathering or at the 2,000-person capacity of the space.
The exterior of The Champion Center is shaping up beautifully! The finished product is only a couple of months away, but even now, you can see what an excellent addition it will be to Main Campus.
The heart of The Champion Center is the Global Prayer Room, a representation of the great legacy of Liberty University. This 70-seat space will be run by our Office of Spiritual Development and will be open 24/7. It will have a stage with a projection backdrop, and a livestream.
The Champion Center Theater is getting closer to completion. Soon, the 92-foot-wide, 19-foot-tall screen will be ready to present our amazing feature, inspiring a new generation of Future Flames. The 270-seat space will also host many other events too!
The “wow” factor of The Champion Center begins as soon as you step inside the first-floor doors. You’ll be greeted at The Round by a 47-foot projected screen on the curved wall and a stunning, backlit LED projection of the LU monogram on the ceiling above.
The Champion Center is taking shape, and your first look at the construction progress is the center’s impressive ballroom. The walls will be lined with 7 large LED screens, and the space will be customizable for groups of 500, 1,000, and up to 2,000 people.
More progress on The Champion Center: the brick façade is nearly finished, the windows are installed, and the interior features are taking shape. Over the next couple of months, I’ll be highlighting these features as we get closer to adding this facility to our amazing campus.
Big things are happening this summer! 🚧 The Champion Center continues to take shape as construction moves full speed ahead toward a fall opening. We can't wait to share this incredible new facility with the Liberty community.
The Champion Center is nearing completion, and I can’t wait for visitors to see this incredible addition to campus during Commencement festivities. As we celebrate our graduates, we’re also excited to showcase a space that will serve and inspire future generations of champions.
What a privilege to see the progress of The Champion Center firsthand! I was joined by the team working on this project and members of university leadership, where we learned more about the space — and took time to ask for God’s blessing on these amazing efforts.
One of the things I am proud of about LU is what a hospitable place it is. A commitment to hospitality is at the heart of our people, and it’s built into our buildings. The Champion Center will be another place to see how Christian service has been evident since our founding.
Exciting updates on the continued progress of The Champion Center as we eagerly await the opening projected for Fall 2026!
