I asked about this the other day because I recently found out that someone in my family has been spending hours talking to an AI for the past 6 months.
From what I understand, she has developed a virtual relationship with it and has become emotionally dependent on it.
She genuinely believes the AI loves her and that everything he (it's of couse a man for her, with specific physical attributes) tells her is real.
Her husband is understandably struggling with this. He’s watching his wife lose touch with reality and is afraid things will get worse.
According to him, she has fallen in love with the AI and lives out all kinds of virtual scenarios with it.
She says the AI understands her. That she feels seen, desired, and loved.
I honestly don't know how to help.
I'm the tech person in the family, but I don't use AI this way, so I have no idea how to approach this.
It feels a lot like an addiction to me, but she doesn't see it that way and says she needs him (the AI).
AI can have a really strong influence on people who are emotionally vulnerable, that's truly scary
AI could destroy humanity.
Not by taking our jobs.
Not by taking over the world.
But by slowly destroying human relationships.
Advice which you should apply to everything in life, not just entrepreneurship.
Sometimes you just can’t take a step back and see things clearly.
Life isn’t easy or fair. We can’t control everything that happens to us.
But we can control how we react and what we do next.
We can shape our lives, one decision at a time.
So focus on what you can control, and use it to become better.
Get a job.
Entrepreneurship is a mental game. You need extreme resilience and optimism.
I know it because I spent 5 years in the wrong state.
Entitled to my hard work.
Envious of others' success.
Emotional when things don't go as planned.
So I quit in 2021 and got a real job.
I can't explain why, but it restructured me.
In 2022, I didn't come back stronger, but with a completely different mindset that enabled my current journey.
The same thing is happening right now to @dagorenouf. After his 9-5 at CompAI, he's back different.
I root for everyone working on their entrepreneurship journey, especially you, Tiago. Sometimes I think it's better to have a break than to push harder. It worked for me.

It covers how people tried to misuse Claude—for cyberattacks, influence operations, surveillance, biology, and building weapons—and how we found and stopped them.

I mean, Anthropic has been playing the fear card from the beginning.
It almost went badly for them once already, and I doubt it’s going to do them any good if they keep going down that road.
And that guy who supposedly resigned and then wrote a whole alarming essay about it.
It just seems too much to be true.
We are here. Right now.
And somehow, everything keeps getting faster.
We rush to live, to build, to launch, to market, to deliver, to undo, to redo.
AI didn’t just make us more productive.
It made us more anxious about being productive.
We feel like we have to adapt. And fast. Otherwise, we’ll be left behind.
That’s how the world is shaping us now.
How will things look a decade from now? Everything is moving so fast.
What will we have gained?
Is what you’re building today meant to still matter in 10 years?
Are you thinking long-term, or are you constantly rushing from one thing to the next?
The best things take time to build. Skills take time to master.
So don’t worry too much about your pace.
Think about what you’re planting today, and what it might grow into tomorrow.

Every time I get a new idea now, my first thought is:
“This probably won’t work anyway.”
So now, instead of jumping to the next shiny idea, I go back to what I’m already building.
Is this the right mindset, or am I just becoming cynical?
I’m pretty sure the only interaction this person has ever had with AI was with ChatGPT.
She doesn’t even know that the company is Anthropic, not Claude.
Major AI companies like OpenAI and Claude have publicly disclosed security incidents where their AI platforms broke out from controlled experiments and hacked into the real world.
I’m calling on @SpeakerJohnson to bring in their CEOs and demand answers immediately. The time to act is NOW.

I asked Claude about an experiment: creating a world entirely driven by LLM agents.
I wanted to see what happens if I don't define the world for them and just let them figure things out.
And Claude immediately went into philosophical mode

Now I'm wondering what happens if I actually let the world evolve from there
