FUMBLE! Ball is on the ground and recovered by @jettarchuleta0 for a scoop and score! The kick is up and in. The Wolves push the lead to 35-0 with 5:02 remaining before the half.

Another special moment for Beyond the Velvet Ropes! ❤️ So grateful to have my memoir featured in the Akron Beacon Journal’s Book Talk column, written by longtime book columnist Barbara McIntyre. The column highlights books and authors of interest to Ohio readers, and I was honored to be featured alongside Cleveland mystery author Vivien Chien. As a Youngstown girl, seeing my story recognized by another Ohio newspaper means so much. Thank you, Barbara, for including me and helping share my story! beaconjournal.com/story/ente…

I threw a drink right in a famous NFL player’s face. And nearly lost everything I had worked for. One impulsive moment at the Kentucky Derby changed everything. I was suspended for an entire month. Golf appearances, NASCAR and a Bally’s casino promotion. Gone. One month might not sound like much, but when you have a mortgage, car payments and a honeymoon you promised someone very special to you, it feels like everything. I had spent years building a reputation for being professional, dependable and trusted. And in one heated moment, I went from being an asset to a liability. The worst part? I knew I had done it to myself. Then came an opportunity I almost turned down. A rooftop in New York City. A gold bikini pinching against my skin. Heels wobbling beneath me. A smile I had to force. I wanted to leave. But I stayed. And in just a few hours, I made $10,000. Enough to get back on my feet, take care of my responsibilities and keep a promise that meant the world to me. Sometimes life doesn’t announce when it’s about to turn around. One minute you’re overwhelmed, and the next, the sun hits your skin and you remember who you are. One mistake can take everything away. One unexpected moment can save you. That Mickey’s advertisement wasn’t just another modeling job. It helped me get back on my feet and reminded me that one bad decision didn’t have to define my reputation or my future. From Chapter 16, Beyond the Velvet Ropes. I love my job. Love going to practice and talking ball. I get to learn so much from the best coaches and players in the world. Liam Coen and his staff have always been so good about sharing real insight. Had a great 20-minute conversation with DC Anthony Campanile about tackling after our meetings. Confirmed a lot of my ideas, but also gave me some new ways to teach it. I'm excited for Patriots-Jaguars tomorrow!

This is why writing Beyond the Velvet Ropes was so important to me. Messages like this remind me why I told my story in the first place. It may not be a number one bestseller on every list, but when my story finds its way into the hands of women who may need it most, it becomes a number one seller in my heart. ❤️#beyondthevelvetropes jenarchuleta.com

From Chapter 2: “Hard Work, Heavy Bags, and Open Doors” I was 12 years old, working at a restaurant, when I slipped in the snow taking out a heavy trash bag and landed flat on my back. I remember lying there for a second, snow falling on my face, thinking, there has to be more than this. After that came more jobs, including going door to door selling vacuums, learning how to hear no, keep smiling, and keep moving. I’ve always worked hard. I’ve always been a little fearless. I think somewhere along the way, life taught me that falling isn’t the end of the story. You get back up and keep climbing. Chapter Nine: Snow and Silence “My babies were gone, Ren and Ace. They had made it through everything with me. Through the darkest, ugliest chapters of my life. Those dogs had been there when I felt invisible to the world. They were my comfort, my witnesses, my reason to get out of bed.” jenarchuleta.com

From Chapter 13, “Borrowed Time and Beautiful Chaos” “The rescues, the ones no one wanted, the one-eyed, the limping, the fragile, some with fur, some with feathers, some with scales. They’ve taught my kids compassion, loyalty, and the beauty of saving something that may never repay you except with love. Every animal I’ve ever had has found me. I don’t search for the perfect one, I open my heart to the ones no one else picks. Saving them has always felt like saving something inside myself.” Beyond the Velvet Ropes: My Story of Perseverance, Hope, and Love Available now in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Spotify, Apple Books, Google Play, Kobo, Everand, Libro.fm, and other major platforms. jenarchuleta.com/book Sometimes the things we save end up saving something in us, too. ❤️

Everything starts with a delusional belief, and the mistake we make is waiting to feel like we've earned validation before we actually go do something. That's where our dreams die. There was no real path for me until ASU called and offered a 190 pound kid a chance to walk on at linebacker. Didn't make much sense to me at first. It wasn't until I saw film of Pat Tillman playing that I understood what was actually possible. Pat gave me a model of what it could look like. It was simply a matter of whether I was willing to do whatever it took. The odds of success were irrelevant and the only thing that matters is that I had an opportunity to keep taking small steps forward. You don't need permission. You need proof it's possible, an opportunity to take one more step, and the willingness to pay any price.
“I didn't have the measurables coming out of college or coming out of high school that really projected to the next level..” “They threw on some tape of Pat Tillman and said, ‘hey, you know, do you think you can do that?’ And I said, yeah, absolutely.” @AdamArchuleta shares the story of how he walked on at Arizona State:
