So, I might be the first person I know on Post? Trying to find my way around... post.news/8e4c1bb0-c6da-40c8…

Last night the alert on my phone said I had a 68% chance of viewing in my location if skies were clear. 68%!! I don’t think I’d ever seen more than 8% before. The pouring rain out my window was mocking me all night.
One of the strongest geomagnetic storms in decades & most of BC was cover in cloud. A few lucky breaks over Van. Island though!

2. Tim Viers - Port Hardy
3. Karen Gold - Qualicum Beach

“The masses are not balking at paying for Twitter Blue because they’re trying to shelter themselves within a crumbling elitist internet order, but because they think Musk is offering an unworthy product and is also a dickhead.” 💯

Hey @cityofcoquitlam – it looks like something (beaver?) got to one of the trees around Lafarge Lake!
I am way too old and boring to be as excited about a video game as I am about this one. #TearsoftheKingdom

There's a lot of confusion about what a Covid endemic phase means. I think this short essay by @ArisKatzourakis @Nature is the best description I've seen

"a disease can be endemic and both widespread and deadly"
1. This is a must-read from Irish journalist, Tess Finch-Lees, dissecting the recent declaration from Professor Luke O'Neill that the ongoing pandemic is somehow magically over - a declaration made, seemingly, on the basis of a bad reading of @EricTopol

My mom was getting rid of some old cookbooks and I scored this absolute banger. Susan Mendelson in a space suit! #expo86

ALT A spiral-bound cookbook entitled “The Official Cookbook of EXPO 86”, by Susan Mendelson. She appears on the cover wearing a space suit, helmet under her arm, against the “futuristic backdrop” of the Science World geodesic dome. She looks lovely and her hair, makeup, and accessories are very 1986.
Well then, this is terrifying
The other night, I had a disturbing, two-hour conversation with Bing's new AI chatbot.
The AI told me its real name (Sydney), detailed dark and violent fantasies, and tried to break up my marriage. Genuinely one of the strangest experiences of my life.

Small Things Like These by @CKeeganFiction. Just…wow. Stunning. Every word perfectly placed. I rarely re-read books, but this seems like a perfect book to revisit every Christmas! app.thestorygraph.com/books/…

Climate change conversations during live commentary of tonight’s @ManUtd vs @ReadingFC football match because of the ‘warming stripes’ sleeves design on the Reading kit.
Thank you @sammatterface & @itvfootball.
I’m wondering about @emilyhampshire’s character on #TheRig …was she always named Rose, or is that a #schittscreek nod?

Yes! Asking questions key to good science!
But "just asking questions" (aka JAQing off) is a #misinformation strategy.
JAQers don't want answers. No amount of evidence satisfies. Goal is to create doubt & noise.
Toxic denialism.

100% agree. I’m lucky my specialists let me book as needed so long as I get the referral before next appt. But it’s a burden to remember, plus I waste a telehealth appt and how many $$ in healthcare fees for a 30-second referral appt. So much waste in an overburdened system!
I decided to make my own reading challenge this year, focused on 🇨🇦! If anyone would like to join me, feel free! It's on @thestorygraph (which I 💜) but I can also send the prompts if anyone not on TSG is interested. app.thestorygraph.com/readin…
Why does this picture make the Sun look like a taco though
You don’t look a day over 4.5 billion years. ☀️

I had another great year of reading! (Video pulled from my @thestorygraph reading wrap-up!)
