Thank you so much to @ALA_Booklist for a wonderful review! It makes me so happy to know people are connecting to this thorny, tangled labyrinth of a story. #mglit #mgfantasy JUST A FEW DAYS LEFT TO WAIT!
I am SO excited to be a part of this event!! Come say hi - I'll tell you how wild mustangs made me a writer, how I found my own shadowbred horse, and why birds always end up in my stories. ;) Also, I'll have stickers and magic keys while supplies last. #mglit

HAPPY BOOKDAY @MeganBannen! This is one of my most-anticipated books of the year (and not just because I'm related to the author! 馃ぃ) and I can't wait to get my copy!!
The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by @MeganBannen is out this week!
Set in a world full of magic and demigods, donuts and small-town drama, this is an enchantingly quirky, utterly unique fantasy with a rom-com twist.

I don't like illusions and am especially unfond of false hope so I'm glad the Big Important Book People have been saying things out loud and on the record of late.
No surprise the closer you get to an industry's "head" the more removed you find yourself from its hands and heart.
My first book came out in the middle of a pandemic and my second came out just when B&N was deciding not to carry hardcover #mglit. It's a discouraging way to start a career, frankly. But I've gotten great trade reviews and readers who find them seem to connect. So 馃У
If you order from @mainstreetbooks with a note at checkout I can sign a copy for you! Talk to your local stores about new books. Ask your libraries to get copies. Leave reviews so other readers can find new reads. Hardcovers are more money than paperbacks, but they last longer.
LARK AND THE WILD HUNT comes out in the UK tomorrow and I am *so* thrilled to think about my thorny, twisty, tricky story crossing the ocean. I've also found out it's going to be translated, which is a HUGE author dream of mine. (I'll announce more when I can).馃尣馃悗馃馃馃崉馃寵鈴仇煑濓笍馃尣
Boosting because I loved this book so, so much.

A female cardinal is DETERMINED to fly in my house. She has spent the last two days flying from one window to another, pecking and testing the glass. I'm afraid she's going to hurt herself, but neither my cats nor I have been successful at scaring her off. What should I do??
I've had a busy couple of weeks signing copies of LARK AND THE WILD HUNT, doing virtual talks, and sorting out some medical stuff (which is "complicated but likely nothing to worry about yet"). Now it's time to write a new book! ...or try to, anyway. #secretprojects
When life gets stressful, I go to the barn. (And I am endlessly, immensely, inexpressibly grateful for that privilege - and for my Best Little Mare In the World.) ((photo credit: Nancy Harrison))

So, no answers yet and I get to go back next Friday. 鈽癸笍 But there's a Barnes and Noble near the hospital and hardcovers were on sale so... I gave myself some retail therapy. (Stocked up on some classics and some history for Secret Project Reasons. 馃摎馃摎馃摎)
I have to get some medical tests done tomorrow and I am really nervous. If you think of it, I'd sure appreciate good vibes. 馃槯馃槵
I've heard so many great things about this book!
Words don鈥檛 express the joy, gratitude, and excitement that I feel today as my debut releases! This has been a dream of mine since I was seven. Now, this book鈥攊nspired by my great-grandmother鈥攊s ready for readers! Thank you @HolidayHouseBks @TheWriteShadow @mollyshafferWIP! 馃挄馃帀
