It's time for all American Christians to come together to rename the New Testament the American Testament.

Bamboo sheets are sold as the gentle alternative to cotton and silk, and the fabric they are made of is the one that put factory workers in asylums.
Bamboo cloth is not bamboo. It is viscose. The plant is pulped, dissolved in caustic soda and carbon disulphide, and squirted through a nozzle into acid, where it sets into a thread. It was patented in England in 1892 as artificial silk, and the trade name for it was rayon. The same process makes a kitchen sponge and the cellophane on a bunch of flowers.
Carbon disulphide was already notorious. French doctors in the 1850s had watched it send rubber workers blind, impotent and insane. The viscose industry needed it in enormous quantities and nothing else would do.
So from the 1920s the asylums began to fill. In 1933 a doctor at a Pennsylvania rayon plant wired Alice Hamilton, the first woman on the Harvard faculty and the country's authority on industrial poisons, with a 6-word message: an epidemic of insanity has broken out. Workers were going home and attacking their wives. Men in the churn rooms were found wandering the roads. Investigators who got inside found a third of the workforce showing signs of poisoning.
The companies fixed prices, sat on the evidence, and when the regulators finally came for them in the West they moved the factories to India, China and Indonesia, where the same chemical is used today. The consumer was never harmed. Only the people who made the cloth.
Silk is made by a caterpillar in a mulberry tree. Wool is made by a sheep in a field. Both are a protein, same as your own hair, and both have been pulled off the animal for 5,000 years without sending anybody out of his mind.
The fake silk needed a chemical that could not be made safe, and the industry's answer was to make it somewhere else.
Kim Jong Un dying, or even being in a protracted coma, is concerning to me for a reason I haven’t seen talked about. His children are still young, making his sister heir apparent. She is far more cruel than her brother and the DPRK will become more dangerous.
Rumors are now spreading that his sister has taken control of the military. God help us if this evil bitch rises to power.

God this guy is such a complete and utter moron.
Trump just called for New Mexico to be renamed New America.
Does he realize how stupid this sounds? Is he claiming that the State is the "New America"?
What, did he destroy the original America?
I’m hosting an event and put it on Facebook. As I was scrolling through my friends list for local people to invite, I noticed that too many people have passed away. A few of my parents friends is to be expected, but most were my age or younger. I’m a bit shook.
Hypomania Update:
This episode might be ending! I wasn’t very symptomatic yesterday, with the exception of staying awake despite taking a zyprexa in the morning. I slept through the night, which I badly needed. The real test comes at 3:00 pm when I try to nap.

I’ve been missing Jasper so much. For me, it’s been a #hedgewatchforjasper every day since she went OTRB.

Mom needs to do a better job managing my Facebook and Instagram. My username is ChaiGerdes on both. Can you drop your usernames in the replies so that I can follow you?
Hypomania Update:
My mood has calmed down to the equivalent of unmedicated ADHD with sleep deprivation. Still taking an “as needed” in the morning. Just the fact that I’m not a zombie after taking a zyprexa tells me this episode is definitely not over.
BREAKING: adults with ADHD hold onto their possessions far more than other people, with close to one in five reaching clinical hoarding levels, and the pattern is driven by inattention rather than a love of clutter. If you have a bag for the charity shop that has been in the hall since March, this thread is about why. 1/7

I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers.
