Quantum computing threatens web3 in two different ways, and they need two different fixes. Shor's algorithm breaks the signatures that authorize every transfer. Grover's algorithm doesn't break proof-of-work, but it can distort the incentives behind it. In 2026 the published estimates for breaking secp256k1 kept falling: roughly 1,200 to 2,330 logical qubits, and one hardware study puts it near 19,400 physical qubits. No machine can do it today. But chain migrations take years, so the real question is whether we start now. I've spent time on a research paper and a 12-month implementation plan that covers both problems: - Hybrid classical + post-quantum accounts, so keys can be swapped without a hard fork - STARK-based signature aggregation to absorb the 50x+ size increase - A migration path for legacy funds - A proof-of-work design aimed at the known quantum mining attacks To be clear about status: this is a design, not a product. The proof-of-work part is still a conjecture, and the randomness beacon it depends on is an open problem. The plan is built around testing those assumptions first. If you work on protocol security, wallets or consensus, I'd value your criticism more than your applause. #web3Security bountyforge.xyz/blog/aegis-q…

@cowrywise here’s an idea instead of frustrating your users Why not add a loan feature that can allow users borrow against their savings If they fail to repay you can just take the money that is locked 🤷🏾
