My biggest knock on Shane Steichen is that he held Anthony Richardson to a higher standard than Daniel Jones.
He gave up on him after 15 starts.
Yet Daniel Jones can play like trash for multiple weeks and that’s still “his guy”
It’s 100% true that they have up on him instead of letting him develop. Pat fanning the flames in the media didn’t make the optics any better. But he is no way the reason the org did what they did

Can we talk about how Daniel Jones couldn't reach the end zone on a hail mary attempt, and instead of bringing in one of the biggest-armed QBs in the league to do it the second time, they let Jones do it again and he threw it short again
Fire Shane into the sun. He’s responsible for this organizational failure to properly develop AR
If Shane Steichen keeps starting Daniel Jones all 17 games, his projected 2026 stats:
3,655 passing yards
5.9 YPA
59%
11 passing TDs
17 INTs
9 lost fumbles
26 total turnovers
71.1 passer rating
6-11 record
And Anthony Richardson is STILL riding the bench.

That part.
There was literally no reason not to allow him to develop over the course of his entire 4 year rookie contract.
Steichen and Ballard's job was to build the team around AR and an offense to HIS strengths. They failed miserably.
I support Ed Dodds
Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds will lead the team’s personnel department for the rest of the season, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports.
A candidate for several GM jobs in recent years, Dodds now takes over a 2-4 Colts roster with 22 days to the trade deadline.
Coach Shane Steichen and the football staff outside of personnel will report to ownership.

#IDontWantToOverreactBUT Daniel Jones is terrible at football. Anthony Richardson deserves another shot.

Daniel Jones has played quintuple the amount of games as Anthony Richardson and produces the same amount td/turnover ratio.
Jones has shown you who he is for a decade
AR was benched after 15 games.
Steichen loves Jones. But he hates AR.
Fire Steichen.
Bench Jones.

Zaire and the players always wanted Anthony … they believed in AR… even after the tap out.
Zaire believed in AR they booted him out of town.
Pittman believed in AR they booted him out of town.
Buck literally said “I resigned because of Anthony”

Feel how you want about AR, but the Colts should have saw his development through. Especially cause there was no benefit not to.

Anthony Richardson was more efficient in each of his seasons as Colts starting QB than Daniel Jones this season

Dead serious anytime AR had some heat he was so hesitant about the kid. Now we got a weak veteran owed 80 million and he can’t let reporter finish his sentence before he’s jumping to defend Jones job security. #noticing
