Our recent SRMA suggests we overtreat pancreatic cysts
Of all global resections for pancreatic cysts, 24% are IPMNs with LGD, 16% are serous cystadenomas, and 4% other benign cysts
How to reduce this? For now, adding nCLE and molecular analysis to EUS

Our SRMA shows that 1/4 of PCLs are pre-operatively misclassified and ∼44% are surgically resected for benign cysts. Implementation of advanced diagnostic tools might improve pre-operative classification and reduce overtreatment.
