I'm thrilled to finally hold this issue of @StoryLitMag (with my story "Big Bird") in my hands. Even if he doesn't see this, I'm very grateful to Jon Franzen for being a generous early reader and to EIC @mpnye for believing in me and my work. #litmags #shortstories #fiction

The Beatles played a big part in my life and my relationship with S. I’m hoping to walk down the aisle to their music this fall at our wedding. I wrote about it for Vogue. Happy Global Beatles Day! 🎶 🎸 @thebeatles
I wrote for Vogue about how my partner S and I had our first kiss to The Beatles, our first dance to @thebeatles…and I may even walk down the aisle to The Beatles (🍓 Fields). It’s true: #AllYouNeedIsLove @PaulMcCartney @ringostarrmusic @johnlennon @yokoono @GeorgeHarrison

If you are tired of talking about/thinking about that Wired article and you are in one of these communities, you could take a break and check out the essay in my last post. #POTS #dysautonomia #longcovid #disability #chronicillness

Grateful to Vogue (Liam, Alexandra) for letting me write about becoming a bride at the same time I’m becoming an ambulatory wheelchair user (and about my love of #TheBeatles). And thanks to you for taking a moment to read it and share in our story. ❤️ vogue.com/article/finding-fr…

On this day, eons ago, I was at Philip Roth’s 80th birthday party. Edna O’Brien, Nathan Englander, Don DeLillo, Jonathan Lethem, Hermione Lee, David Remnick, Philip Gourevitch, Louise Erdrich etc. all in one room. I wrote about it for @parisreview . theparisreview.org/blog/2013…

Rare night solo because of the ice, so I’m doing what all girls do on a Friday night: watching Karl Ove Knausgaard and Zadie Smith chat.

Time keeps rolling but I am still, and always, thinking of this question. (For anyone interested: Quotes are from The New Yorker’s q&a with novelist Hisham Matar. I wrote the publisher’s guide to his debut novel.)

Just stopping by to say hello to any friends who might still be here. Feels a bit like sending a message in a bottle though. I hope you’re all doing well.

Jia Tolentino’s New Yorker article reminded me that I met Elizabeth Gilbert once—at her parents’ Xmas tree farm. (Got my trees there for years.) It was after she’d written The Last American Man. I bought a copy, and she wrapped up my tree. Neither of us knew what lay ahead.
