Texans should have all 5 TEs active:
- Dalton Schultz
- Foster Moreau
- Marlin Klein
- Cade Stover
- Brevin Jordan
Along with:
5 WRs:
- Kayshon Boutte
- Jaylin Noel
- Xavier Hutchinson
- Jared Wayne
- Lewis Bond
3 RBs:
- David Montgomery
- Woody Marks
- British Brooks
Texans Projected Roster vs Bengals with:
Lewis Bond & George Odum added to depth chart
Jaden Crumedy, Nate Thomas & Collin Wright *projected* inactive in RED w/ players already ruled out
Texans do end up going with practice squad elevations for
- Lewis Bond (1st time)
- George Odum (2nd time)
OUT:
- Nico Collins
- Ed Ingram
- Jadeveon Clowney
- Jake Hummel
Other rookies that should be active for their 1st game:
- Aiden Fisher
- Febechi Nwaiwu

#Texans rookie WR Lewis Bond is being elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals, per a source.
Standard elevation.
Texans were considered a top team & the talk all offseason was how Houston needed the 1-seed & those were the expectations
Losing tiebreakers to AFC teams, at home, would be a rough start
They had a lot of playoff tiebreakers last year due to conference record
Still crazy to think that the Texans will be without WRs:
Nico Collins
Jayden Higgins
Tank Dell
already in WK2.
That's a lot of fire power
They thought enough to keep Brevin Jordan on the active roster over Lewis Bond and Jawhar Jordan
Would make sense if they valued him being active over them in a game with limited weapons
I figured Texans would either elevate:
1) Lewis Bond (or Tinsley/Kelly)
or
2) Jawhar Jordan (would give more depth for 21, 22 & 23 personnel)
If not opting to, then more TE depth for 13-personnel would be the obvious pivot
Texans Roster vs Bengals before inactives
2nd of 3 possible elevations for Odum
RED = OUT
If no other elevations from PS, specifically for a WR or RB, I'd keep all 5 TEs active
#Texans practice squad elevation for former All-Pro #Colts #49ers special teams ace George Odum for #Bengals game, per a league source.
Odum had a tackle vs. #Bills and played 71 percent of the special teams snaps.
Has 205 career tackles, three interceptions, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries.
1 AFC loss (JAX) of those 4, was the difference in winning the division
The focus on the Texans this offseason was on how they needed to start hot & take advantage of 3 of the first 4 at home
Now, they'll have to do it w/o Nico Collins & others missing the game
If Texans lose to CIN, they'll have as many conference loses in 2026 as they did in all of 2025
(Houston went 10-2 vs AFC last year)
An 0-2 start at home would be much different than last year's bad start
2025:
3 of first 4 losses on ROAD
3 0f first 4 losses vs NFC
Texans Depth Chart for Bengals game w/ 4 players ruled out:
- Nico Collins
- Ed Ingram
- Jadeveon Clowney
- Jake Hummel
Lewis Bond could get his 1st practice squad elevation
Wyatt Teller should start w/ Febechi Nwaiwu active
Dominique Robinson & Sebastian Harsh will be DE3 & 4
Aiden Fisher & Jamal Hill should both be active at LB

BJ Hill (achilles) is not in uniform and has a noticeable limp.
Samaje Perine (illness) is watching from the sideline to start today.

In the preseason Woody Marks & the Texans talked about using 2 RBs on the field together more this year
It'd be a good week for some 21, 22 & even some 23 personnel reps with Nico expected to be out
Only 4 for 4 for 17 yds 1 TD on passes to RBs in WK1
Heading into Bills game, felt Buffalo's key to the game was 13-personnel usage on offense
Heading into the Bengals game, I feel their DL should throw a lot of stunts at the Texans OL
DT rotation of Dexter Lawrence, Jonathan Allen, B.J. Hill & T.J. Slaton Jr. could cause havoc
