OpenAI's Dots has huge potential, the model seems good, the UI is what AI should be, but the system behind it is awful. It's just not ready yet. They need to get on this and fix these issues ASAP. The errors with connecting to tools, sessions, etc., are endless. The amount of work it gets done is tiny. It forgets it's task list. There's virtually zero proactiveness from it. It doesn't seem to act like it's an orchestrator. It' doesn't seem to have the right mindset. It seems to use a dot session to communicate to a cloud session that then communicates to a local session then back the other way, which seems very convoluted. It's just very broken.
OpenAI, I've asked many times now to be added to your trusted tester programme. I'd love to help you fix your models, apps, tools and systems. If only in a tiny way. I use your models for hours every single day. I need these things to work (much like I need Copilot to work for work, much like I need Google Gemini to work outside of work).
Can you please merge work, chat, and Codex into one and have Dots use ChatGPT sessions rather than its own Dots sessions?
Grok Bot is still way ahead and just gets things done. It manages multiple agents so much better.

We cannot let the next president be anti ai, as much as people hate trump, it’s a very, VERY! good thing that he’s pro ai.

Dear Tibo, no amount of resets can save OpenAI now. I hope the team focuses on releasing a model capable enough to compete with Opus 5.5 asap.

official now: anthropic is preparing the release of their new model(s). Via The Information
Anthropic is reportedly preparing a model that, when asked to fix one bug, can identify the broader class of problems behind it and ask whether it should address those too. That account comes from one anonymous tester; the model family and release date remain unclear.
But looks like it will be a significant jump compared to their released models.

拡散モデルの発明者でもあるJascha Sohl-Dickstein氏(Anthropic)の講演『Advice for a young investigator in the first and last days of the Anthropocene(人新世の最初と最後の日々における若手研究者へのアドバイス)』を紹介します。
youtube.com/watch?v=3LZN2UUx…

OpenAI, STOP WASTING TIME ON SIDE QUESTS, forget about Sora, and FOCUS ON MAKING A MODEL BETTER THAN OPUS 5.5!!!!!!!!
OpenAI's retreat from expensive side projects may be reversing as the company explores a deal to revive Sora while expanding its efforts in robotics, creator tools and personal devices.

We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.
In the post below, we share more details about our new fund.

I do feel OpenAI are slightly behind right now. Obviously this isn't a merry-go-round and will change over and over, but I think they are desperately missing their cancelled GPT-6.1 Astra.
- Dots are lagging behind Grok Bot, they are buggy and incomplete, focus should move to it
- Plus tier needs more value, it's the plan most will sign up for but it needs to tease as many features as possible
- Arguably so does Pro, it should not be a case of missing tools and features and should only be about compute levels to get for the amount we spend (though this then becomes inequality)
- All UK and EU users are suffering because OpenAI release to the rest of the world before waiting for regulations to be approved. Anthropic seems way better at this. 🤔
- Messaging is poor, though you could say that for all labs
- The UI is confusing and we desperately need this merge of work + Codex and how will this merge Chat without losing the current higher usage limits over Work mode
- Dots vs ChatGPT needs feature parity, for example why has Dot not received the intelligent UI instantly?
And yes their models are very slow now, even Luna. I don't sit around waiting for the answers anymore. Ultra fast is only ultra fast because normal mode has slowed down. 😜
Their voice mode is good though.
Overall I have no concerns though, OpenAI's user count dwarfs Anthropic's right now.

ANTHROPIC CO-FOUNDER TELLS THE IMF THE SINGULARITY HAS ALREADY BEGUN
"I believe that this year, we've gained convincing evidence that it has now begun"
"a point where our models must be discarded and a new reality rules"
"the singularity is here"
at least this time Clark shares his definition of what "singularity" means, and even by this definition I'm not sure we are there yet. AI is clearly speeding up progress dramatically in some areas, but it is still uneven, with plenty of bottlenecks preventing broad, self-sustaining acceleration
even the recent math progress still looks more like a massive speed-up of technical work than completely new theories or brilliant conceptual breakthroughs. so if you ask me, the singularity is not here yet, but the current pace may already be enough to create massive social and technological turbulence
Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark tells the IMF the world is about to go from 10 million scientists to 10 billion (almost all virtual):
“According to UNESCO estimates, there are approximately 10 million scientists in the world. And even with only 10 million scientists, we have too few humans to oversee the work of today, too few laboratories to do material science analysis, too few biological labs to develop and test new drugs, and too few large pieces of scientific equipment in space or on the Earth for the experiments we want to run.
"Tell me what happens when instead of 10 million scientists, we have a billion virtual scientists directed by our own 10 million. Or 10 billion [virtual scientists]. That's the world predictably coming right for us. And we have to get ready. If we do get ready, we are going to be in a better position to translate the intelligence of AI systems into gains for us all. You know, longer, healthier lives, more energy, more food, more wealth.”

In the last year or so, in talks & podcasts, I predicted this AI-bio-autolab-digital twin loop as a key pillar for solving all diseases & reversing aging in 10-15 years. “Experts” called it unrealistic & impossible in such a short time. Turns out I may have been conservative.
