Let me get this straight: a province that’s been vilified for daring to develop its natural resources, taxed into oblivion to bankroll federal programs it never asked for, and lectured by elites who wouldn’t survive a single Calgary winter - that province is now supposed to hand out unlimited social services to anyone who shows up at the door?
Sorry Ottawa, but no. Alberta isn’t a charity. It’s not a refugee camp for failed globalist experiments. It’s a province of hardworking Canadians who didn’t sign up to be Ottawa’s dumping ground or Carney’s guilt-ridden ATM machine.
If asking whether the system should prioritize citizens over newcomers makes you uncomfortable, maybe ask yourself why. Maybe it’s because you’re more interested in moral posturing than in actual sustainability.
Here’s a radical idea: take care of your own people first.
