ALT Pitch card for BLOOD & WATER, a historical fiction/crime drama/romance WIP. When a war between rival factions threatens the balance of power and profit in Prohibition-era St. Paul, a reluctant crime boss desperate to prove his place in his family’s syndicate and a charismatic bootlegger hell-bent on maintaining independence in a criminal underworld governed by hierarchy must face whether their clandestine affection can withstand getting caught in the crossfire of opposing loyalties—and what decisions can be excused in the name of love and victory. A portrait of Jensen to the left, a white man with dark brown hair wearing a dark brown shirt, gray-green vest, and green tie, holding an open straight razor in one hand. A portrait of Evan to the right, a freckled white man with past-chin-length red hair, wearing a collarless white shirt and black suspenders, holding a cigarette in one hand.

He was sweating. Gross. “Not here,” he muttered. “There was a Scholar.” “You lost it?” Tabby sounded disgusted. Her long black hair was gathered in a high ponytail, the sleek mane falling down her back as she leaned forward in her seat. “There was a Scholar,” Felix repeated defensively. “She punched me in places that may never recover, Tabitha.”

ALT PITCH: In a kingdom where necromancy is illegal, budding necromancer Sera fights her way to the top of the kingdom court. Discovery means death, but Sera has always wanted to make an impact and she won't let something like morals get in her way. EXCERPT: They would be, Sera thought, the blood thrumming in her ears. The dead here had been raised. En-masse, probably. She could only imagine the power that had taken. A whole village’s dead, raised in one night. She could see the figure now in her mind’s eye, a Harbinger cloaked in black under the light of a silvery full moon, the crimson wash of his Necromantic power seeping into the soil like blood and unleashing horrors, an army of the dead clawing their way out of their final resting places. She shivered.
