Well, thanks Unity for giving me the final push to make the switch. #UnrealEngine
I hate iOS. After using an iPhone for 6 months, I’ve came to absolutely hate touching my phone. Way too hand holding. Not enough power user overrides. Apples dumb way or no way.
I think it’s about time to call quits on generalized social media and instead switch to more focused/niche communities. I find the only reason I keep opening twitter is to see the latest posts from the indie game devs out there, and there are plenty of other resources for that.
I wish the internet could just be a place of learning, respectful sharing of ideas and culture, and overall a tool for moving humanity further, but all it seems to have done is cause massive conflict between people.
Keep telling myself I’m going to avoid any political talk on SM but then something pisses me off.. but I’ll stick with discussions with my relative diverse set of friends IRL.
I rarely get excited about tv shows but acted like a kid on Christmas when the new eps of #TheExpanse came out.
Really wondering if trying to build a game dev team with friends is worth it over paying people for assets and purchasing asset packs. Like guys, sorry that we can’t go for Horizon Zero Dawn quality with a 3 person limited budget team.
Spent over 6 months on a project without a clear goal for what I was actually trying to build. Then spent a week on a new project having a clear goal and got more done and with far better code.
I often code things with a rough idea of where I’m going to end up. This works fine for small tasks, but anything larger becomes unmanageable quickly without some formal design and or clear end goal.

That was a wild day.
I imagine the Venn diagram of #TheOrville and @Mythbusters fans has a huge overlap. How cool is it that @KariByron and @ToryBelleci were both in Command Performance?!

Going to restart my game project for the 4th time...this time using URP vs HDRP and with Kinematic Character Controller from the asset store vs my home grown character controller.
It's painful watching my coworker on a Mac mini take 10 seconds for the same command it takes me 45 seconds to run on my windows laptop with higher specs than his Mac.
I've written dozens of small prototype games, but I always get to a point where lack of assets holds me back from going further. How many of you indie devs out there have artist working with you? Fiverr? Do it all yourself?
Spent more time recently analyzing Genshin Impact to understand how they did various things, than actually developing anything myself. Wondering if I should have became a game artist rather than a programmer.. but after 20 years of coding, I'm probably not switching anytime soon.
My personal game development always seems to take the backseat before everything else whenever work or life gets in the way. Idk, maybe it's just an excuse.
