🚨 TRUCKERS: DON'T HELP CREATE A MANUFACTURED FAMINE. OCTOBER 1 IS HARVEST. We are less than a week away from a proposed October 1 trucking stoppage over diesel prices. Before you participate, I want every trucker considering this to ask: WHO IS ENCOURAGING YOU TO DO THIS RIGHT NOW? Why NOW? Why during HARVEST, when America's food is coming out of the fields and has to be transported, stored, refrigerated, processed and distributed? Who started this call? Who is amplifying it? Who benefits? And have you seriously considered who will actually pay the price? Because it isn't simply the people responsible for diesel prices. THE FARMER PAYS. America has already lost 208,816 farms in just ten years. We went from 2,109,303 farms in 2012 to 1,900,487 in 2022. And from 2017–2022 alone, America lost nearly 159,000 family farms. Meanwhile, the number of farms generating $1 million or more in annual revenue actually INCREASED. Think about what those numbers represent. Behind many of them are families who have worked the same land for generations. Grandparents. Parents. Children. People trying to preserve the farm long enough to hand it to the next generation. And small family farms still represent approximately 86% of America's farms. Many are already operating under tremendous financial pressure. Even government assistance doesn't necessarily fall evenly across agriculture. Different programs distribute assistance very differently, and some categories disproportionately benefit larger operations. Yet somebody thinks NOW is the time to put another burden on the farmer? TRUCKERS AREN'T THE ONLY PEOPLE PAYING FOR DIESEL. What exactly do you think runs a combine? AIR? Combines need fuel. Tractors need fuel. Sprayers need fuel. Loaders need fuel. Farm trucks need fuel. Irrigation and grain-handling operations require energy. The farmer is ALREADY experiencing the same fuel-price problem you're protesting. Except he's also paying for: Seed. Fertilizer. Equipment. Repairs. Insurance. Interest. Land. Labor. And an entire growing season of risk. Then harvest finally arrives. The crop is ready. And suddenly you're considering stopping the trucks? HARVEST HAS A CLOCK. Weather changes. Crops mature. Storage fills. Produce spoils. Grain needs to reach elevators and processors. Livestock needs feed. Processors need agricultural products. Stores need food. FOOD HAS TO MOVE. So when you stop transportation because diesel prices are hurting you, you haven't made that hardship disappear. YOU HAVE TRANSFERRED IT TO THE FARMER. And eventually you transfer it to the American family buying food. The farmer didn't set diesel prices. The mother standing in a grocery store didn't set diesel prices. The family struggling to afford groceries didn't set diesel prices. DON'T MAKE THE FARMER PAY TWICE. And look at the larger environment in which you're being encouraged to do this. America has already experienced enormous poultry losses from avian influenza. 43.8 MILLION commercial birds had been depopulated by October 2022. And in just the first months of 2026, another 15.2 MILLION commercial egg-laying birds were depopulated because of HPAI outbreaks. We've experienced fires and shutdowns affecting food and manufacturing facilities. We've experienced transportation and rail disruptions. We're dealing with refinery and fuel pressures. Every one of those events doesn't have to share the same cause for their consequences to COMPOUND. Food. Fuel. Agriculture. Manufacturing. Rail. Trucking. Energy. They are interconnected. So why voluntarily add another disruption? And why choose HARVEST to do it? THINK ABOUT WHAT PREVIOUS GENERATIONS SACRIFICED. During World War II, American men left their families and went overseas. Many never came home. Women entered factories, shipyards and industrial jobs in enormous numbers because America needed them. Families lived with rationing. Gasoline was rationed. Tires were rationed. Food and other necessities were rationed. People sacrificed because they understood that sometimes keeping a nation functioning requires putting something larger than yourself first. Compare that with what we're discussing today. Diesel prices hurt? Farmers are paying them too. Truckers absolutely should fight for affordable fuel and sustainable working conditions. But do it without sacrificing the farmer. Do it without jeopardizing the harvest. Do it without making America's families collateral damage. Our grandparents endured rationing and war to keep America functioning. Surely Americans today can find a way to fight high fuel prices without deliberately interrupting the movement of America's FOOD. Before October 1, ask yourself again: WHO IS ENCOURAGING YOU TO DO THIS? WHY NOW? WHY HARVEST? WHO ACTUALLY GETS HURT? WHO BENEFITS? And are you absolutely certain you're hurting the people responsible for your problem— —or are you helping push another struggling family farm toward extinction? America has already lost 208,816 farms in a decade. HOW MANY MORE? Truckers and farmers should be standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Not transferring hardship from one essential American industry onto another. FARMERS NEED FUEL. TRUCKERS NEED FUEL. AMERICANS NEED FOOD. America needs its farmers farming. America needs its truckers trucking. AND AMERICA NEEDS ITS HARVEST MOVING. 🇺🇸 And for those who understand the need for prayer: PRAY. Pray for our farmers. Pray for our truckers. Pray for our harvest. Pray for our food and fuel supplies. Pray for protection over America's farms, food-production facilities, railways, refineries and transportation infrastructure. And pray for the wisdom to recognize when a proposed solution to one crisis risks creating an even greater crisis for everyone. And remember history. The Holodomor showed the world the horrific consequences that can follow when human actions and government policies catastrophically interfere with agriculture and the availability of food. History does not have to repeat itself exactly for us to learn from it. When food production and distribution are disrupted, ordinary families ultimately pay the price.
