Our country needs to hear this right now…
This is Jonathan Miller taking on Enoch Powell
Calling out the baselessness of racial fear and hatred
…and we need our leaders to follow suit.

Politics is a serious business & UK now has serious leadership. Today’s challenges require a deliberative style to mobilise the solidarity that is necessary to solve our problems. This PM gets that. Blair let conviction get the better of his judgment. I don’t think Starmer will.
Labour landslide of 97 I was on DC. This one I was in Istanbul. From now on I’ll insist that a nice trip overseas is causation not correlation. Thanks #EWIS2024 Kadir Has @europeanisa and beautiful Istanbul.
For international observers I think this explains well what’s about to happen in UK. Even after Brexit Tories seen as party of sound economics until Truss, Tories sound govt, law & order until Johnson; Tories patriotism & armed forces until Sunak (D Day).
Trevor Philips, "Liz Truss essentially made the party of sound money, the party of market chaos"
"And Boris Johnson made the party of law and order the party of law breakers"
"It's really striking that in this interview you seem to refuse to accept that you're carrying that burden"
"The D-Day, the gambling, the announcement in the rain.. It's been a mess"
Oliver Dowden, "I accept people's frustrations"
Trevor Philips, "I'm not talking about people's frustrations, I'm talking about your failures"

Thanks @ossgroupinTR for this opportunity to discuss my recent @GSQ_Journal paper on Pragmatist ontological security studies. Great questions and yes, it saved me from the 'anxiety' of watching England play in the Euros!! You can watch the talk on YouTube or listen on Spotify👇
