The debate has moved from “this can’t happen” to “how do we address the legitimate issues.” That shift is the actual outcome of the campaign, whatever the ballot says McGregor ends by floating the idea that Smith’s own base might turn on her if the results disappoint them. Classic move: treat the pressure that extracted concessions as a threat to the person who applied it... rather than evidence the pressure worked!
