Don't hear many stories like this (unfortunately)
Sports gambling is a giant self-inflicted wound for the šŗšø
Like the opioid crisis but more insidious because the impacts are less visible
I see middle school students colloquially using gambling terms and language regularly now
I wonder if anything changes this

Our 10 year old, watching a kid cartoon movie trailer:
āWhy is he twerking!?ā
Should I be more concerned that the 10 year old knows what twerking is or that the cartoon dude was doing itā¦
Our sonās soccer team had a tough one in the tournament championship against a team that had just beaten them 4-0.
They went up 1-0 but it could have easily been 3-0.
They lost 2-1.
Sometimes things donāt always work out the way you want in sports, work, life.
Keep grinding.
Chic-fil-A for breakfast.
Lunch workout followed by Chic-fil-A.
Pick up one kid from after school activity. Stop by Krispy Kreme to get hot donuts.
Water grass.
Pot Roast and potatoes cooked by the amazing wife (who also works).
Get kids showered, to bed.
This is the way.
āThe mailbox is full and cannot accept any messages at this time. Goodbye.ā
I hear this about once a week, and it never ceases to amaze me.
Looking at a landscape picture of a lake and mountains weāve never been to.
Our 7 year old: āit gives Pennsylvania vibes.ā
Sheās never been to PA either.
So many good memories from this place
On this day in North Carolina history September 30, 1948.
The Rams Head Rathskeller opened down in Amber Alley off Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. Folks just called it The Rat.
Ted Danziger and his family opened it in the basement under the old candy shop. They were Austrian folks who came over here and started over in Chapel Hill. First place around there to pour draft beer. Pizza showed up a few years later and that was a big deal for this part of the country back then.
The Daily Tar Heel ran an ad saying Andy Griffith was gonna wander around with his guitar welcoming people in. Think about that. Andy Griffith playing in a basement restaurant the night it opened.
That place fed generations of UNC students. Lasagna they called the bowl of cheese. The Gambler steak. Waiters who stayed for decades. Initials carved in the wood. Dates. Cheap beer. Loud nights. It was not fancy and it was not supposed to be.
The Rat closed in 2007. Building still sitting there under Franklin Street. Different things have come and gone in that space since.
If you ever ate there you remember it. If you never did, you missed a Carolina institution.
First picture is the alley entrance.
Black and white picture is the view from Franklin St. Old World Gift Shop upstairs and The Rat downstairs.
I didnāt really understand Dune when I saw the movie a few year ago. Might have even fallen asleep in the theater.
Decided to give the book a shot. Itās so much better.
The Dark Wizard > Free Solo. At least for me as a viewer.
Alex Honnold is a climbing machine, the goat, and it is awesome.
But Dean Potter was scared of the things he did/wanted to do. And he had his flaws, like we all do. The emotions of it and drama and sadness are heavy.
Many of todayās mobile games are super gamified and addictive.
Theyāre missing 2 cool factors that old games had.
1) dying, so the player must start over and experience true frustration.
2) cheat codes that you can find in magazines or online (or maybe I just donāt know this)
Iāll never understand why so many people want to be first to board an airplane just to sit in a confined space thatās less comfortable than the seats in the airport.
330am wake up.
Hitting 4 different airports today for a 3 hour client meeting/lunch.
Plus 2 hours of driving in a rental car.
Thatās what we do for nice clients.
Home tonight to see the kids for breakfast tomorrow. Not bad.
Canāt beat the weekend we had at the beach. You canāt tell it by this pic, but his casting net skills are improving.
