Life update: I told my parents and siblings, I told my students, and I now I can tell y'all. This week, I was diagnosed with cancer. They say it's treatable. They say it's early. But it's always early until it's late.

#AcademicTwitter, we have two searches going in the English Department at UNA. One search is for a specialist in Early Modern British Literature. The other search is for a specialist in Early American Literature. The link for both ads is below.

Damn, the bald eagle had an interim gig for 240 years before they made it official. Shout-out to being dedicated to the grind.

I'm old enough to remember Oregon 59, Florida State 20; Alabama 38, Michigan State 0; Clemson 31, Ohio State 0; Clemson 30, Notre Dame 3; LSU 63, Oklahoma 28. Those were playoff semis, with brand names getting smoked. Don't act like is the first time we've seen playoff blowouts.

Now we either get an actual movement together or we don’t. Put up or shut up time. And there are way too many lives on the line to fail.

All the thanks to Tasha for taking time out of winning to talk to me about winning. I had fun with this conversation, and I think Tasha gave us a lot of great tips on how to be serious about writing/art without taking writing/art too seriously.

And all the thanks to Autofocus for letting me talk to another friend about their success. In a perfect world, I would split my time between listening to my friends talk about their successes and fining companies who have their fans turning in the wrong direction.
