The World Is Being Rewritten. Most People Have No Idea What’s Coming.
I enjoyed a dynamic 2-hour live conversation with @familyoffice host Angelo Robles, our fifth episode since 2020. We covered substantial ground, with candid debate and differing perspectives:
• AI / SI (superintelligence): A historic technological transformation, a financial bubble, or both? Opportunities and risks in innovating, investing in, and using AI.
• AI agents and work: What happens when an entrepreneur can orchestrate capabilities that once required an entire organization? Implications for businesses, careers, and human expertise.
• Education, careers, and Next Gens: What should young people learn and apply as AI reshapes careers? Developing practical capabilities, independence, and readiness beyond credentials, including the discernment to recognize and resist being gaslighted.
• Global investing and capital allocation: Opportunities and risks across AI, computing infrastructure, energy, edge, robotics, biotech, applications, and services.
• Family offices and wealth transfer: What makes a family office AI-native? How can families develop capable leaders and responsible stewards while preserving and growing their wealth?
• Geopolitics: The Trump administration, U.S.–China co-opetition, Europe/France, and the Middle East, including Iran, its proxies Hezbollah and the Houthis, and Saudi Arabia.
My view: UHNW families and SFOs need to prepare their people as thoughtfully as they manage their capital.

UHNW family wealth transfer is roughly 80% psychology and 20% mechanics—not the other way around.
Wealth is more than financial capital. Next Gens need preparation, trusted guidance, strong relationships, sound judgment, execution — and soft + hard skills for the age of AI.

$36M in philanthropic funding. 20M+ clients reached. $2.5B in capital mobilized to help them grow.
That’s exceptional efficiency and effectiveness as a global nonprofit.
Inspired by my private mentee Austin Fowler’s $1M gift to Opportunity International, @OpportunityIntl — significant, measurable impact at scale.

Honored to again chair @Opal_Group’s Family Office & Private Wealth Legacy Summit in the Hamptons, Aug. 25–26, and moderate its opening panel on wealth transfer across generations.
I’ll also speak Aug. 27 on investing through geopolitical transformation at their Next Generation Family Office Leadership Brunch.
Their private gatherings around the summit, August 24–27, aren’t bad at all…

At AI Summit @ Stanford, I moderated “Family Office Trends: Where Smart Capital Is Going in AI” with @allihuynh and @GaryFowlerGSD before a packed, standing-room-only crowd.
We explored how entrepreneurial single family offices (SFOs) are approaching AI investing and what they seek in direct deals and venture funds. Wise investing requires challenging flawed assumptions, keeping ego in check, and avoiding linear, bureaucratic thinking.
The goal is not merely to deploy capital. It is to back and help build AI/tech ventures that create real value, generate substantial returns, and manage risk wisely. Capital matters, but so do imagination, discernment, trusted access, governance, and execution.
