It’s launch day. 🚀🚀🚀
Loop: Outlearn. Outmarket. Outgrow. is officially out.♾️
I helped scale the marketing playbook AI is now breaking.
We had to rebuild our own. Today that rebuild becomes a book. 📖
For 15+ years at HubSpot, the job was clear: create useful content, get discovered, earn trust, turn trust into customers.
Then buyers started getting answers without visiting websites. AI made content cheap. Almost everyone’s response to less attention was produce more — including companies already producing too much.
When you’ve gotten good at something, it’s easy to confuse “this worked” with “this will keep working.”
So Kieran Flanagan and I wrote Loop — a practical way forward for marketers who need Monday to look different.
The idea: your marketing should get smarter every time you run it.
A customer objection improves your next ad. That ad sharpens your positioning. That positioning makes the next conversation better. Every cycle raises the floor for the next one.
That’s the system:
• Express — your point of view and why you’re worth choosing
• Tailor — make that story relevant to the person buying
• Amplify — show up where people actually discover, evaluate, and decide
• Evolve — feed what you learn back into everything next
We tested it inside HubSpot. The book brings the framework, the tools, and a 90-day plan to run it with your team.
AI gives your competitors the same tools you have. Your advantage is what you understand about your customers — and how fast you turn that into better marketing.
To the HubSpot team, the Marketing Against the Grain community, and everyone who challenged these ideas along the way: thank you. You made this book better.
If you own growth and you’re asking what your team should do differently on Monday — start here. Loop is live.

Outlearn. Outmarket. Outgrow.
A simple AI search tip for 2026? Post it 2X.
When Perplexity cites your company from LinkedIn, 59% is from a company page. while ChatGPT and Google AI both cite personal profiles 59% of the time. Post to both.

A high compliment from Claude to me just now:
"The dog is the right amount of stupid for the transition slide."

Putting a vulnerable call for help out to my feed:
I’m still looking for a full time job. And I’m seeking introductions or leads for brand marketing/management roles.
It’s been almost a year of searching and I want to have stability and progress in my career
I have to think hosting websites might be another loser with AI. When tools like Vercel and Cloudflare have such robust free hosting levels that are safe and secure (and integrate easily with Claude et al), it makes me sideeye my hosting bill a bit.

🇺🇦 Wherever the blue-and-yellow flag flies, freedom lives.
Thanks to the courage and sacrifice of Ukraine’s defenders, our colors of resistance are known around the world.
We hold it high. We will prevail.
Anyone moved a website with a blog to cloudflare?
Looking at a few backend solutions there, curious what is working.
Not perfect yet, but enjoying the simplicity of the daily brief I've built for myself.
Details my schedule and the weather for the day in a minimal timeline visual and then gives me a brief for each person I meet with that day.

Things Claude says that I don’t understand and are also poetry.

THE WORD OF THE WEEK?
**CONSOLIDATION**
This week's BeanCast has @jasonkeath and Dr. Janell Townsend discussing the proposed Netflix acquisition of Warner-Discovery, as well as Omnicom's spin on their deal for Interpublic.
Plus scads more!

We are looking for a @Restreamio expert to support a livestream next month. 2-3 virtual speakers to 3 platforms. Will include graphics/video slates. We will also need to do a couple tech test calls with our speakers.
Was really happy to find @Sesamecare through @Costco and did a virtual dermatologist appt while my Dr. was on leave.
Sadly, Sesame is now charging me a monthly subscription & refusing to refund. No idea what the subscription is for. All of their pricing is per appt. Be careful.
The effects?
* Attention > conversation
* Influence > expertise
* Virality > nuance
* Consumption > participation
* Entertainment > information
* Content endless + connection thin
The key: push against this.
This is one of many conversations I’m looking forward to at Social Fresh 2026.
Grab your spot on the waitlist before presale goes live next week.
