Under capitalism, no investor will voluntarily walk away from a highly profitable industry like fossil fuels โ even if itโs causing ecological breakdown.
This is why solving the climate crisis requires overcoming capitalism.

Never forget that the clowns who are currently saying โwe canโt stop climate change, just accept itโ are the same people who spent the last decade doing everything possible to prevent us from stopping climate change.

I sat with a friend who was telling me how Israel executed his entire family, including his wife and children.
He told me, "We were trapped in a house in northern Gaza. The army was announcing over loudspeakers that everyone inside should come out with their hands on their heads, and that the army wouldn't kill them."
He said, "I didn't know what to do except leave. My family and I left the house one by one, with our hands on our heads. A soldier called us to stand against a wall. Suddenly, I heard gunfire, and I didn't wake up until I was in the hospital. I learned that they had executed my entire family. I was injured and bled for a long time, and I survived after ambulances arrived. One of the doctors told me that Israel had killed my entire family, including my mother, father, wife, and two children." He told me the story with eyes full of sorrow, pain, and tears.
This is one of the testimonies of Israel's terrorism against families in Gaza.
Today in 1962, Nelson Mandela was arrested by apartheid police, with support from the CIA, for resisting white minority rule. He was imprisoned for 27 years. US government agencies listed Mandela as a "terrorist" until 2008.

we're told Israel is "the only democracy in the Middle East" โ but they govern a population under military occupation without the right to vote. thatโs apartheid.
Western governments know this, and choose to support them anyway. why?

This grotesque headline is from the Telegraph. 3,000 people in Britain have been killed in heatwaves this year so far. 20,000 in Europe.
Even if Britain did get to โembrace Mediterranean lifeโ, what about the actual Mediterranean, what do they get to embrace? What about India?
The indifference of the British elite toward mass suffering is astonishing.
2,877 fatalities. โAnd August, traditionally the hottest month, is yet to arrive.โ theguardian.com/environment/โฆ
This new study finds that the total death toll in Europe during the June heatwave exceeds 20,000 people.

Right, the boycott should apply to all of Israel. It is an apartheid regime that is carrying out a genocide of the Palestinian people and this fact is clear for all to see. Genocidal apartheid regimes should absolutely be isolated.

๐ซ A boycott of all trade with settlements is practically and politically impossible and risks becoming a de facto boycott of all of ๐ฎ๐ฑ.
๐ฎ๐ฑ votes on 27 October, with opp. ahead in polls. A ban will help the Israeli right and harm the centre and leftโs push for intl. diplomacy.
3โฃ The ๐ฎ๐ฑ and ๐ต๐ธ economies are interlinked. With the WB economy already fragile, a ban could be catastrophic.
Extensive ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ฌ๐ง commercial relationship creates significant legal, economic and practical complications. These may have unintended consequences for pharma๐, banking ๐ฆ , higher education ๐ , charities โค๏ธ, financial services ๐น and wider ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ฌ๐ง trade
๐๏ธ A ban will affect Jerusalem โ 38% of whose residents are Israeli-Arabs โ and the Old City. The future of Jerusalem is highly sensitive and at the heart of previous ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ต๐ธ negotiations. (12/14)

capitalism has always required cheap labor and resources from a periphery, and the West has maintained that imperial arrangement through violence.ย
itโs imperative that we transition to a post-capitalist economic system.

This result might even be conservative. The study estimates 5,210 deaths in France, which is shy of the 5,700 that the French authorities just recently announced: theguardian.com/world/2026/jโฆ

It seems clear that the school in Minab was bombed precisely because it was a school.
People often say, why donโt villagers in the West Bank ever hit back when Israeli settlers are brutalizing them or burning their homes? The answer was always obvious, but this is it. Netanyahu will use it as justification to accelerate slaughter and destruction in the West Bank:

The reason we produce so many private jets and not enough healthcare is that ultra-wealthy people have taken over our economy and our democracy.
@jasonhickel says taxing the rich is about taking that power back, so we can make democratic decisions about the future we want.
