Finally!! It only took years off my life watching the Phillies’ approach at the plate in the Playoffs. Kevin Long was never it. Not a single hitter on that team really got better under his coaching and we are now immediately improved now that he is gone.

What are we doing… An absolutely gutting view inside immigration courts.
NEW: In a Texas courtroom Monday, 25 migrant children lined the pews — a 9yo rested her head on the table, a 6yo pretended to fly an airplane, and a 3yo played with the mic. Many in attendance didn't have an attorney — and a 13yo was ordered removed. A look inside, thru sketches.

Deep down, we know that the return of legitimated, tolerated, excused, contextualized, intellectualized and often violent antisemitism — and loathing of Israel — is a flashing warning sign of the decay of something uniquely precious about America, itself.

Whitmer approved the largest road funding package in Michigan history, building or repairing over 24,000 lane miles of roads and 1,900 bridges. She expanded Michigan’s Earned Income Tax Credit from 6% to 30% of the federal credit, providing larger refunds to hundreds of thousands of lower-income workers. She made breakfast and lunch free for all public school students, expanded pre-K, increased access to free preschool for 4-year-olds, and expanded free community college. She expanded collective bargaining rights for unions. She repealed Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban and signed legislation expanding reproductive health protections. She expanded the state’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. She signed universal background checks, safe storage requirements, a red flag law, and expanded restrictions on firearms at polling locations. She passed one of the nation’s more ambitious state clean-energy packages requiring utilities to reach 100% clean electricity by 2040. She codified Affordable Care Act protections into Michigan law, including protections for preexisting conditions), ended surprise medical billing, expanded mental health coverage requirements, and erased millions of dollars in medical debt.
the party establishment has made their decision. they do not want change. they do not want fighters. the people of michigan will now make their decision. do you want corporate stooges pushing endless war, or do you want medicare for all? do you want to stop maga, or cooperate?

This literally reads like @bradlander typed into ChatGPT: “Give me options for responding to an antisemitic stabbing in NYC.” Then, instead of picking one, he just pasted every option into the tweet. Even left the em dashes in.
This awful incident — a likely Latino man stabbing a Jewish man & an Asian man while allegedly shouting “Allahu Akbar” on the Upper West Side — is simultaneously: Frightening and depressing. Almost certainly an antisemitic hate crime. Quite likely an anti-Asian hate crime. Probably a mental health issue. Definitely reason to feel grateful to Manhattan Shomrim, the NYPD, and the grace of God that both men are likely to recover. Not the fault of the Mayor for calling Netanyahu a war criminal. A good reason for people who liked the Mayor’s video to take the fears of Jewish neighbors more seriously. A call for all of us to work harder to bring people together, across lines that feel very fraught, to strengthen our efforts to make this a city that’s safe for Jews, for Asians, and for everyone else. nytimes.com/2026/07/23/nyreg…

Mayor Mamdani did not simply express a personal political opinion. He used the authority, symbolism, and credibility of the mayor’s office to issue what amounted to an official public address declaring that the democratically elected leader of the world’s only Jewish state is a ‘war criminal’ who is ‘not welcome in New York City.’ That is a profound misuse of the office entrusted to him by all New Yorkers. After acknowledging that New York City has no independent legal authority to execute the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant, the mayor nevertheless chose to transform that legal reality into a televised political spectacle. Respect for the separation of powers and the legal limits of public office is a bedrock of American democracy; those limits should not be treated as an inconvenience to be exploited for political theater. Perhaps most telling was what the mayor chose to leave out. His address made no mention of Hamas or the October 7 massacre of innocent civilians. Instead, he delivered a sweeping moral indictment of Israel while erasing the terrorist atrocities that ignited this war. Appeals to universal humanity and justice ring hollow when they exclude the victims whose suffering does not fit a preferred political narrative. This is no longer simply about Prime Minister Netanyahu. It reflects a broader pattern in which Mayor Mamdani repeatedly singles out Israel while using the prestige of his office to legitimize rhetoric that further isolates the Jewish state and deepens division here at home. At a time when Jewish New Yorkers are experiencing alarming levels of antisemitism, harassment and intimidation, they deserve a mayor who refrains from fomenting hatred against the world’s only Jewish country while maintaining the fiction that this is not anti-Jewish. Throughout his campaign, Mayor Mamdani repeatedly insisted that his responsibility as mayor would be to focus on New York City and the issues affecting New Yorkers. New Yorkers elected him to make their neighborhoods safer, combat hate and unite a diverse city, not to conduct foreign policy or transform City Hall into a stage for ideological declarations about world leaders. New Yorkers elected a mayor, not a prosecutor of foreign leaders. Mayor Mamdani should spend less time trying to demonize only one leader and one country from City Hall and more time protecting the New Yorkers he was elected to serve. #Mamdani #MayorMamdani #Israel

Hate crimes. Rising cost of living. Legionnaires' outbreak. Parasitic infections. Flash floods. But sure, let's focus on trying to arrest Israel's prime minister. Glad to see the NYC mayor has his priorities straight.

A liberal New York political club declined to endorse the Zohran Mamdani-backed candidate for New York’s 13th Congressional District, socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier, following a “spirited meeting” in which Chevalier refused to condemn Hamas. “We usually support the younger, more progressive candidate,” Broadway Democrats wrote in its Thursday newsletter. “But we cannot do this in the 13th District Congressional race, and it is not a close call. That is because … at our own endorsement meeting, when asked to condemn Hamas and its October 7th attacks, [Chevalier] point-blank refused, turning the question into yet another attack on Israel.”
