A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 5:15 for a portion of western Pasco Co along the Suncoast Pkwy and Hwy 52. 60 mph wind gusts are possible. The storm is currently stationary. Heads up around Quail Ridge, Meadow Oaks and Moon Lake.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m. for southern Hillsborough and central Manatee counties. 60 mph wind gusts are possible in areas East Bradenton, Ellenton, Parrish, Wimauma, Ruskin and Sun City Center. The storm is moving NW at 10 mph.

Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning. This time it's in central Hillsborough until 5 p.m. including Tampa, West Park, Ray Jay, Tampa International Airport, Carrollwood and Citrus Park. 60 mph wind gusts are possible. The storm is nearly stationary right now.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for central and southern Sarasota Co until 4:15 p.m. 60 mph wind gusts are possible in and around North Port, Venice, Nokomis, and Casey Key.

As always here in Florida, there were the "haves" and "have nots" with rainfall today. Some spots over 4" at the coast while inland spots saw nada. Which one were you today?!

August 23, 2026 in West Central Florida. The rare washout has finally happened for most of the area today!! Your AC is probably the one that's rejoicing the most, hahaha! Those 70s look and feel wonderful!

A few showers and storms will likely develop along the coast early Sunday AM with the highest rain coverage shifting inland. Drier air aloft returns Mon & Tue to lower the rain chance. Weds, the SE wind returns bringing back our normal rainy season weather through next weekend.
