DARLING,
NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO US and OUR GRANDCHILDREN.
OUR GRANDPARENTS BATTLED WILL LIONS AND SURVIVED
My husband stopped me from getting involved in this matter, and I respected his wishes. However, when I heard about generational curses being directed at innocent children, including those not yet born, and then heard you speak about the innocence of certain people being dragged into this controversy, I felt compelled to ask: What about the innocence of my husband’s children and future generations?
We grew up in churches where love, forgiveness, and compassion were central to the Christian faith. Even the Lord’s Prayer teaches us to ask God to forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. It is therefore important that the principles we profess are reflected consistently in how we treat others.
First, my husband @FrankGashumba never mentioned your husband’s name in his initial videos. He spoke about fake pastors and challenged them to demonstrate even one miracle as men of God. It was your husband who later came out to attack him, saying he would become like a chapati within one year, die like Gaddafi, and that the soil would reject him, among other statements, before going further to curse my husband’s four generations.
Before addressing what you call body shaming and what a man should or should not say, I believe it is equally important to ask your husband to keep his disagreement with my husband focused on the adults involved, without extending it to innocent children and future generations.
I do not defend body shaming or comments about anyone’s physical appearance, but such comments cannot be equated with invoking death and generational curses against innocent children.
Even as they were crucifying Jesus Christ, He looked at those who were hurting Him and said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34).He never cursed them!!!!!!
@Jessicakayanja ,if we profess to follow Christ, who are we to curse innocent children who have done absolutely nothing to us? And why have you not first sat your husband down to ask him about the words he directed at my husband and his four generations, instead of focusing on body shaming? You have rightly raised concerns about the innocence of people being dragged into this matter. I ask that you extend the same consideration to my husband’s children and grandchildren, including those who are not yet born. I even wonder what has become of Christians.
I am equally concerned about the silence of those who are quick to condemn comments about a bald head but have little to say about words directed at innocent children and future generations.
We, too, are children of God. I come from a Christian family, my parents are Anglican and very strong believers of God and my mother too is a member of mothers union in our church. I have been married to my husband for one year now, but I have never seen a day pass without him saying a prayer to God. He often says, “Tukugulumiza Yesu.” By the way, we share the same Christian faith. No individual or family has exclusive ownership of God or His grace.
James 3:9–10 reminds us of the contradiction in praising God while cursing people made in His likeness.
@Jessicakayanja you are entitled to defend your husband’s dignity and heritage. I ask only that the same concern be extended to my husband and his family.
If we are going to speak about innocence, let us speak about every innocent person. If we are going to invoke Scripture, let us apply its principles consistently. The dignity of one family should never be defended at the expense of another family’s children.
How a @itsJoshuaBaraka adlib has reached these ends, we shall never know.
