The Alsatian pils, featured in the winter edition of the Japan Beer Times, is a style that originated in the Alsace region of France around the 16th century when the climate cooled and more pubs took up beer brewing (as opposed to wine).

Some breweries in Japan making the style are Rough & Laugh Brewing (Shizuoka), Numazu Craft (Shizuoka), and Farmentry (Nara). The latter uses four French hops varieties in its pilsner: Strisselspalt, Aramis, Mistral, and Teorem. Their beers are quite refreshing!

2026年最初の大型クラフトビールイベント「JAPAN BREWERS CUP」が、2月6日〜8日に横浜・大さん橋ホールで開催される。美しいロケーションも魅力の一つで、毎回楽しみにしているフェスの一つである。国内外から40以上のクラフトブルワリーが集まり、提供されるビールは200種類以上。

地元グルメの出店やライブパフォーマンスも楽しめる。ビールの品評会も行われ、来場者は受賞ビールを実際に味わうことができる！2月4日・5日には、醸造関係者や新規開業を目指す人に向けて、醸造機器や原材料の展示会「JAPAN BREWERS EXPO」も実施される。
