Andy Burnham confirms what previous PM's - May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak and Starmer - failed to, that Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum. My view: Andy Burnham says that, when he entered Downing Street, he asked whether Russia had interfered in the Brexit referendum and was told: “Clearly.” For years, May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak and Starmer had the power to confront the truth about how Brexit was won and what it was doing to Britain. Instead, they protected the political settlement that had elevated some of them, and treated Brexit as a prize to defend rather than a disaster to honestly reassess. They put their careers and party calculations ahead of the country. Britain was left poorer, more isolated and divided, while Putin’s ambition to weaken Europe was served. Why are we still carrying on with that vision? Britain should be working with our neighbours to rebuild trust, strengthen cooperation and unite Europe against the threats we face—not continuing to deliver the outcome Putin wanted. It's time to #RejoinEU

- Garry Kasparov: "Four years, Ukraine is fighting for the whole of Europe. NATO was built to fight only one war. Not to go to Afghanistan, not to go to Syria. One war: To save free Europe from Russian aggression. Ukraine is the only country that is fighting this war, and we’re still discussing: Should we include them or not? Ukraine is the only country that is fulfilling NATO’s destiny. And we owe them everything." ............ Well said as always, I agree with every sentence. 🫡

Met, and interviewed, a lot of world leaders in my time. Few have impressed me more than President Zelensky. He’s a man of great courage, resilience, and determination, and deserves the support of everyone who cares about defying dictators. @ZelenskyyUa

- Olena Zelenska 🇺🇦: "If Ukrainian soldiers, despite fierce resistance against the enemy and the loss of their comrades, haven't got tired of liberating Ukrainian land, and if Ukrainians, despite their grief and tears, haven't got tired of defending their children and their future, how can people somewhere in a safe country get tired of reading the news?" "Please do not get used to this war, because if everyone gets used to it, this war will never end." ............ Don't stop supporting Ukraine, they need our help 🫂🇺🇦❤️

The truth hurts @reformparty_uk which is why the party routinely lies on issues like small boats eg Reform-run Sunderland council refuses to work with Show Racism the Red card because too many at the top of the Hard(increasingly Far) Right party roll out the red card for racism

Televising a public execution is beyond disgusting and barbaric. The death penalty should not exist, let alone be a live-streamed spectacle. This is a grotesque violation of human dignity. We must oppose this - and the death penalty - everywhere. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmy0…

The Tories’ pledge to cut the so-called ‘Mansion Tax’ will benefit precisely ZERO households in my home town of Birkenhead (happy to be proved wrong). In fact it’s a tax cut that will benefit only 0.5-1% households in Britain. For the few, not the many. Always.

The Conservatives were slaughtered in 2024 election in which ‘nothing works’ was the motif… bizarre then that K Badenoch had little to say about public services, housing shortages etc, or Brexit..instead the old focus on uncosted tax cuts and expensive breaks for home owners.

🚨 NEW POLL: Labour has opened up a FIVE-POINT lead over Reform UK, its biggest polling advantage since the beginning of last year. A new YouGov poll for The Times puts Labour on 27%, up three points, with Reform down to 22% and the Conservatives on 20%. The findings provide further evidence of a “Burnham bounce” following Labour conference and the PM's interventions on Europe, social care and political reform. And there is another striking finding: 52% now favour Britain rejoining the EU, against 27% opposed, although 64% believe any return should require another referendum.

Thatcherism devastated the UK's industrial base, put three million people on the dole and plunged entire communities into the kind of poverty they still haven't recovered from four decades later. Kemi Badenoch is offering us a repeat performance.
