Did you know #beaver wetlands are #wildfire resistant?
This string of beaver ponds stayed green during the 2020 Mullen Fire in WY while the surrounding area burned heavily. We visited the site recently and it's still full of fish, beavers, bears, birds, and more!
Thanks, beavs.

I’m convinced that most people want to help nature thrive & have no idea that some common gardening methods are harmful to wildlife. I’ve created a poster to illustrate the benefits of long grass habitat. Using weedkiller can seriously damage wildlife. #nomow #nomowmay #organic

Just in case you didn't 💙 beavers enough...
Beaver ponds are like buffets for birds that stay here over winter, as they create habitat for plants and insects🧑🍳🐦
Findings showed bird diversity & abundance increased even ~ 100m away from ponds.

The benefit of beaver ponds to birds is especially good news for us in Britain, because our wintering birds have sharply declined in the last 20+ years (some as much as 75%). So boosting the amount of great habitat to get them through winter is very important! #rewilding

Did you catch pioneers @KneppWilding in Sunday's #WildIsles?
Their wood pasture, now home to the purple emperor, was created through grazing that generates a mix of scrub, open areas & ancient trees🌳🦋
A nice one to watch on #InternationalDayofForests bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0f21jy…

Our Director @AliDriverUK gave evidence in Parliament on species reintroductions yesterday.
"The government has really ambitious environmental targets… Species reintroduction is one of the key pieces of the jigsaw to achieve the level of biodiversity recovery it aspires to."

So proud of these boys & all they’ve done for our country. We don’t deserve their brilliance. They fought for school meals, kneeled against racism, wore the rainbow with pride & even rode a unicorn!! They are our present & future & they made England united ❤️🤍 #EURO2020
