A last hurrah of the Summer, a little break to Amsterdam with my girl. I always feel so grateful to spend time with this one, but never more so than this time of year. Next week marks 12 years since her liver transplant. Forever grateful to her donor, his family & our NHS 💚 – at Amsterdam, The Netherlands

This one picked up her GCSE’s today @LHScardiff, 12yrs post liver transplant. It’s not about the results but the fact she went to school, made friends & lived her life. A gift from her donor, his family & medical teams. Forever grateful @NHSOrganDonor @share_wishes @believe_ods

This is unacceptable outside Thornhill Primary School. It hasn’t been emptied for days @cardiffcouncil and kids are right next to it in the playground. Please can you empty asap. I can’t do a quick query, as I’m in the school. Thank you.

#springwatch in our garden & the blackbird chicks are nearly a week old, filling the nest with feathers, feet & beaks. It’s a real privilege to watch these grow. Isn’t nature amazing 🪺🐦‍⬛

The first attempt was a magpie massacre. Then the blackbirds came back & picked a new spot. Still pestered by magpies, I tried to help & it seems to have worked so far. Overjoyed to see these little ones. Keeping everything crossed they fledge. Mum is with them now 🐦‍⬛🪺

A glorious morning for an early dip. The water is not really cold anymore (20.4), but it’s still refreshing in a heatwave. It’s been a long time coming after a winter of Baltic dips.

1 yr since I started cold water dipping @LisvaneLlanRes & it’s still one of the best things I’ve started & continued. Naturally, I dressed as Wonder Woman, in honour of this fabulous bunch of ladies, who are all feisty, funny & lush. Thank you ladies for friendship & laughs 😘💦

It’s the middle of May & it’s bloody freezing. So, hot chocolates & marshmallows are the law for all those revising for exams.

Well it is a Bank holiday weekend. And, it’s due to rain so we thought we’d enjoy the beer garden before the rain sets in.

Two banging tunes this morning, thank you @SusanCalman I was 6 when I discovered Kate Bush. My dad taped Wuthering Heights multiple times so I could listen on repeat & waft around. Still my go to song when I’m feeling out of sorts, played loud & sung badly by me, aged 52 🤣

Today, on my lunch break, I started a four week sailing course with my fellow, cold dipping friends @LisvaneLlanRes. I capsized once, grounded the boat, did a few doughnuts in the water, but, I sailed and it was so much fun. Looking forward to more laughter on the water ⛵️🩵

A new family have moved into the garden. Such a joy watching them do their thing. Fingers crossed things go to plan. It didn’t go well last time & I’m way too menopausal to deal with any slaughter this Spring.
