Too often, we jump straight to essay writing and wonder why students struggle, especially in the secondary grades. The truth is, essays are only as strong as the sentences that make them up. When we invest time in teaching students, regardless of their grade level, how to construct, expand, and refine sentences, we give them the foundation to express complex ideas with clarity and confidence.
