@thameswater you are an absolute shambles. Workmen dug a hole outside my business and worked on a meter which is now leaking badly. Nearly 2 hours of my life on 3 separate phone calls and no one will help. Last operator hung up on me. Shocking customer service
@thameswater been passed from operations to metering and back to operations with no help whatsoever
@thameswater all the while my neighbour is walking her children through 3 inches of water to get them to school. Sort it out

More needs to be done to support hospitality. The cost of doing business is just too high. The price could be losing more of our pubs and hospitality businesses that give vitality to our high streets towns and villages. mirror.co.uk/money/uk-restau…

Not just businesses closing we are also seeing individual outlets closing as headroom to invest is eliminated. These businesses don’t benefit from rate relief and their bills will rise by 6.7%. The cost of doing business is just too high to turn sales into sustainable profit
Revolution Bars Group says that 8 of its least profitable bars will close to reduce future site losses; It comes as the company reported that its group lfl sales for the 4 weeks from 4 to 31 Dec 2023 were up 9% #propelinfo
Getting more and more depressing each day. These are good venues, well run, incredible chefs. They can’t survive.
I went through my trauma last year. Still hurts. Still trying to put things back together.
And it hurts just as much watching the industry I love slowly die

It tough out there for hospitality businesses. Summer can be the time that we make a nest egg to get through Winter months. What happens when that nest egg is not there. You can’t keep borrowing…so you close. That’s why the campaign for lower VAT is so important. #notjustapub – at Cheltenham, England

Certain pubcos are utterly ruthless. @Stonegate_Group, registered Cayman Islands, are "seeking a food operator with the skills to develop wet & dry trade" to run the historic listed Rose & Crown, Sandridge. Popular landlord & team, regular jazz nights, have been given notice.

Why pubs should have nothing to do with "Dry January" - it is supping with the enemy.
