So many words to describe this monologue. Compelling. Enthralling. Immediate. Delightfully oxymoronic. Painfully paradoxical.
But none really do it justice. Quite simply the best soliloquy I've had the pleasure of reading in a novel. And brilliantly bookended 😁

As I thought, you’ve jumped the gun, again. There has been no verdict on ANY of the charges. The judge has merely changed the charge. Reducing a charge is not a verdict, ever.
Finally watched @odysseymovie. It's a bit boring but strong performances all round and it's worth the payoff by the end.
Just put out a Jack-O'-Lantern ffs.
Halloween artificial cobweb material:
It may be a bit of fake fun for you, but it's a very real and terrifying death for them.
And it's not only birds.
Last year I had my first call of the season of a hedgehog trapped in this horrific fake 'cobweb', made especially for gullible halloweeners to spread over their greenery, trapping all unsuspecting birds, insects and mammals, including hedgehogs.
The fine synthetic fibers are difficult for animals to see and can quickly wrap around their legs, spines, and neck, leading to severe injuries.
When a hedgehog struggles to free herself the web tightens, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
These constriction injuries often lead to permanent damage or death.
Unfortunately the call was from Manchester, so all I could do was talk them through getting the poor creature to a rescue.
Clearly she had been trapped there for at least one night, and her struggles had pulled the strong nylon strands so tightly that one of her toes had been amputated.
Can you imagine the pain and the sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted to the point of near death, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, please take it down now.
Please don't be conned by the greedy makers and sellers of this rubbish into hurting defenceless animals.

#JasonArday has been cleared of plagiarism for a fourth time. Why is the media silent about it?
As another investigation ends without substantiating plagiarism claims, @richardsudan asks who will hold the British media accountable for its treatment of the pioneering Black academic?👇🏿

White Terrorism, Whitewashed Every Time
His name is KEVIN, who has unsurprisingly been sent for ‘psychiatric’ observation…
The Pattern Is The Point. Every time a Muslim or Black person commits violence: name, face, faith, TERRORISM. When a white suspect does it: anonymity, silence, “mental health”. Again. And again. And again. The double standard isn’t a coincidence, it’s systemic.

THE HIERARCHY OF RACISM PERSISTS
Andy Burnham’s government accepted all 27 recommendations of the ‘landmark’ antisemitism review at lightning speed yesterday. But what exactly constitutes antisemitism, and who defines it?
Why isn’t the same urgency applied to rising racism, Islamophobia and bigotry against other communities? Obviously some victims are deemed more worthy of protection than others.
Absolute authoritarian move. That flag is not inherently antisemitic. Fuck this censorship bullshit!

British Left-Wing Media Outlet ‘The Canary’ Has Announced It Is Officially Closing After 11 Years Of Journalism
The platform was de-banked by Lloyds Bank & later announced a second account with Metro Bank was also frozen. A major attack was launched against the platform, which The Canary said made continuing to operate untenable.
The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) condemned the move by Lloyds Bank as a “disturbing precedent for UK press freedom”. Online commentators have warned that the ability of the establishment to cripple media organisations critical of them creates a hostile environment that will pressure other news outlets to fall into line or face similar potential backlash.

Ms Rachel Is More Metal Than Metallica
Despite the atrocities, Metallica frontman James Hetfield criticised musicians pushing political agendas at concerts.
Metallica wants music to be an escape; whilst Macklemore and Ms Rachel remind us silence protects the status quo. Singing ABCs while defending children’s right to grow up is apparently more rebellious than stadium rock.
If your rebellion crumbles when oppression demands a response, you were never rebels.

French Protests: When Racism Deliberately Manufactures Misinformation
Blame immigrants, vilify Muslims, distort footage, bury the truth. When racism drives the narrative, misinformation becomes a weapon to demonise minorities and shield governments from accountability. The lie is deliberate, the agenda is racist and the damage is real.
