Having debated coming off Twitter for a while, last night's John Oliver episode was the final straw. The monetisation on the platform is creating a cesspit of information. 👀 youtube.com/shorts/UpQ6c_UxI… Find me on @jamiebogle.bsky.social 👋

Possibly the best tweet I have read in the history of tweets (although you might have to read the thread for context). He was a superb finisher with a ball, and he is equally as good finishing an argument. Well played Stan 👏

Well worth a watch 👀
This speech *is* one for the history books. But that’s less a compliment, than a coda. Carney has given us the words to mark the end of the ‘rules-based order’…by acknowledging it never really existed. It was a collective illusion. That now is over.

A few words on why financial planning is such a great profession to be in. It has its upsides and downsides like anything else, but we get to make a difference at the end of the day. linkedin.com/pulse/best-job-…

🗣 "You might want to think twice before letting Mr. Farage make Britain great again." An accurate takedown of what he stands for and the hypocrisy of his policies around free speech.
Nigel Farage looks uncomfortable as Jamie Raskin uses his opening statement to absolutely demolish him

What a venue for dinner. The Dorchester Library at the Royal College of Physicians. Books that are 500 years old and a wealth of knowledge from our peers. @dimensional #FinancialPlanning

Life is all about making memories. This weekend gave me memories that will last a lifetime. Wembley Stadium with my daughter, watching our beloved Sunderland score another last-minute winner. Premier League, here we come. Ha'way the Lads 🔴⚪️⚽️

Same index, different time-frames. There's a *lot* of noise out there currently. Ensure you are globally diversified, stick with the plan and ignore the fear. This too shall pass.

Being asked to pay higher taxes is not Communism. Done well, it's a transfer of wealth from the rich to the poor, and in a time when the gulf between rich and poor has never been greater. People sitting on ÂŁ1m plus of farming land or business assets just need to plan more.

He referenced Mein Kampf in a rally. He said, "I want the same kind of generals Hitler had." He's a convicted felon. He shows an open contempt to LBGTQ and ethnic minorities. He's shows an open contempt for women. America, you've got what you wished for.

I always wonder just how much of it comes down to kudos and ego? The idea that saying you use a private bank or 'wealth manager' is more important than the actual financials.
There’s little value in a ‘wealth management’ offering that revolves solely around investment management, especially when it dazzles clients with ‘exclusive’ access to private funds and crystal ball market predictions using nonsensical terms like ‘soft landing.’ The worst are large private banks, where leadership is far too removed from the clients. The real alternative is a comprehensive financial planning proposition that includes cashflow, retirement planning, low-cost investing, tax optimisation, and estate planning. It’s even better when delivered by independent, owner-managed firms whose interests are truly aligned with their clients.

DFMs & wealth managers will tell you it's complicated. You need complex asset allocations. You need gold. You need to be in cash. What about Bitcoin? They make money on complexity. Warren Buffet is the most successful investor of our lifetime, so what does he say? Buy equities.
Investment advice for the average person, from one of the greatest investors of all time: - Buy equities - Use index funds - Stay invested - Be cautious of media or incentivised investment fund sales people It’s simple - yet most investors ignore Warren Buffett’s advice!
