So does anyone else listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl books on audio ping an actor that Jeff Hays seems to be channeling? Like I picked up the Patick Warburton-ness of Carl from the beginning, and I just heard Crawler Priestly sound just like Chris Hemsworth as Thor.

I started hearing about Dungeon Crawler Carl a few years ago, and the concept didn't sound like it was for me. Friends started recommending it but I never picked it up. I saw the RPG blow up on crowdfunding and I still gave it a pass.

While amusing, the video game tropes that might delight some of the readers did nothing for me. Book One was a lot of exposition and setup and it just sort of ended. But it was an easy and fun read and I liked Carl, and was even warming up to Donut, so I grabbed Book Two.

Book Two left me smiling, laughing, and unexpectedly caring about the people in this absurd universe. I wanted to keep going. Book Three is titled The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook and from the title alone I knew I was completely in and it did not disappoint. I'm now on Book Five.

The armor design was always ridiculous. We joked about it back in the day. But if you don't want the boobs on display hire an artist to create a new depiction. Don't replace iconic art.
